ULL now has a better basketball coach than LSU. If LSU does not make a change, ULL basketball will be better than LSU just like ULL football was better than LSU during Billy N's final seasons in Louisiana.

Yes. I met plenty of them. A group of them literally threw drinks at my 6 year old daughter in the stands at Tiger Stadium.

I figured it out… all the fans that hate ULL are fans of other state schools based on their proximity, or are out of state Alum.
Lake Charles people - like McNeese & LSU = hate ULL
Monroe people - like ULM & LSU = hate ULL
Ruston people - like La Tech & LSU = hate ULL
Out of state - like LSU & hate ULL because of made up a fake rivalry
New Orleans/ Slidell/ Mandeville/ some BR - like LSU & some Tulane, but hate ULL
Lafayette - like ULL & LSU.. I haven’t personally met anyone that hates McNeese… but when in lived in Lake Charles, apparently it was a rival.
I pull for Mcneese & Tulane too FWIW

Since I covered Southern (and by extension Grambling) and the SWAC for The Advocate back in the day when Pete Richardson, Ben Jobe, Tommy Green and Roger Cador were head coaches, I'm happy for them when they are successful.

Y'all are funny… everyone knows that LSU is the flagship.
Like I said… fake rivalry.
Some of y'all act like this is Texas / A&M or Bama / Auburn.
The whole state loves LSU. Sure… you can cherry pick a few fans from each base that like to stir the pot. Doesn’t change the fact that fans and Alum of all other La schools still pull for LSU.
Would be nice if LSU had a real rival so these threads wouldn’t exist.
TD gets a lot of traffic from folks who never log in or have an account. The only reason I comment on these is because a handful of people are driving a fake narrative that there’s some rivalry between the Ragin’ Cajuns and Tigers.
It’s the same dang fanbase if you live in Acadiana lol
I would bet that on any given Saturday, a lot of Tiger Stadium is filled with fans that have allegiance to one other in state school in addition to LSU.

Again… it’s the same fan base. It’s not uncommon to see both LSU and UL merchandise for sell around Acadiana. Boutiques, large box stores, convenience stores etc…

Some UL students can be found repping LSU.

I hope people realize that the "know your place" (AKA let's keep everything the way that it is) montra is actually counterproductive to the state. That attitude is what has kept Louisiana fighting for last place in just about everything good.

I travel all over the state and while everyone dreams of beating LSU, they are almost all fans except ULL. As a note, it is hard, almost impossible, to find Tulane fans.
I like the LA Tech fans the best, they embrace the fact that they are a stepping stone program and sell themselves as that to recruits. They let the recruits know that even though the staff that recruits them may move on to a bigger program, they will replace them with talented up and coming coaches.

Fake made up rivalry
I’m from there, spent most of my life there, my family is there, and I go back often. The entire region of Acadiana (especially the heart of Acadiana) - Cajuns, Tigers, Saints
Lived in Lake Charles for a few years, they are Cowboys (Geaux Pokes), Tigers, Saints
Haven’t spent much time in North La so can’t speak to them… the Cajun and Creole communities of South Louisiana love LSU… including students and Alum of other universities (with the exception of a very small few)
Nola area is its own separate demographic and culture.
LSUs national brand and culture is Cajun culture
Most Cajuns are in Acadiana. Cajuns don’t hate LSU.

Not true. Majority dislike UL-Laf. (Unless you graduated there). Businesses, etc. would be ignorant by not supporting both. It’s about $, not likability.
