They must have polled a whole lot of old folks on there to have Michigan and Nebraska so high
Michigan is the winningest program in the country. And Nebraska was absolutely dominant in the 60s-90s. Not a couple good teams - they were a force year in and year out.
They both definitely qualify as blue bloods.

Nebraska hasn't lost LESS than 4 games since 2003...and even then they were just 10-3. Sure they dont have a bunch of .500 or less seasons, but let's not sit here and pretend 8-4 is somehow an acceptable season at Nebraska considering they keep firing every coach that's doing that.

I'm in my 30's, and you dont earn being a blue blood and get to keep it forever regardless of what happens every decade after, you cant take decades off and still be considered a blue blood. You can definitely lose it and Nebraska has absolutely pretty much lost it with little hope to get it back. Michigan is almost in the same boat but you feel like they can crawl out of their hole a lot easier than Nebraska can. Nebraska is pretty much dead as an elite program.

10 years ago, sure, 20 years ago, definitely.
Now, eh, not so much, they havent been relevant in way too long. you dont get to keep the title forever and continue to be irrelevant for super long periods of time to current.

Recruiting says otherwise. Heck, even Bo Pelini was able to consistently land Top 25 classes. Nebraska will win 9 this year, and will be even better next year. Watch and see.

Does being a Blue Blood really matter any more? It used to mean you were on national TV which gave exposure only a handful of teams got. It also played a big role in the voting for the national championship. Every game being on TV and the playoff seems watered down the importance of being a blue blood.

Where are they going to pull all this elite talent from? South Dakota to the north? Iowa to the East? Kansas to the South? Colorado/Wyoming to the (Extreme) West?
Start roiding up their corn fed boys again like they did in the 90s with the drug testing in place now? Take a bunch of non qualifiers that were permitted until they joined the B12 and suddenly, their dropoff started.
They are nowhere near any sort of big talent base, and have to sell a program that's been practically irrelevant on the national scene for near 2 decades (longer than these kids have been alive) to choose Lincoln over Austin, a winning program in OU near OKC...or California kids away from L.A. or Berkley...seriously...where is the talent going to come from?

Frost is going to be able to revive that program by implementing his up tempo attack. He'll get Texas/Florida athletes to play in that offense.
