4 National titles (one more than LSU)

Im from Texas, always liked UT, sister and some of my best friend went there. But they aren’t a blue blood. Just a really good historic program like an LSU or Georgia or penn st.

Its a dumb term which I always thought was exclusive to basketball (Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas, etc)

Had we won in 2011. The country would look differently on LSU

We’ve certainly done absolutely nothing to reverse our fortunes since that awful night. Hit a crucial fork in the road and hired Orgeron. Ugh

What the frick is a blue blood anyway? It's such a pretentious Term. Language for football elitists and Talking Heads with six figure incomes to make themselves feel like they're above the savagery of a game like foobaw

Blueblood

Miami had a great 20 year run with a few down years in the middle of the Davis era. Richt looks to be turning them around, but they're still going on about 15 years of mediocrity.

If Richt is successful and they have another 30 year run near the top, then they may reach blue blood status.

Hard to argue about this.

FSU? bullshite. If LSU is isn’t a blue blood neither is FSU since they have only had success since the 80’s.

Fans are smart; we're not

LSU is in a weird subgroup, just below the bluebloods, but above the "very good" programs. It's weird mostly due to the fact that the SEC is loaded with such programs... LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, guess you now have to include Florida (although they didn't emerge until Spurrier took over). Not a lot of other programs outside the SEC like this, maybe Washington, Florida State, Miami, Clemson.
I put this as a separate group because they all have plenty of hardware and titles, and at times can be the dominant program in the nation; this separates from the Michigan State, Wisconsin, Stanford etc group.

Maybe the large group within the SEC historically has kept anyone other than Alabama from emerging. I think it is worth noting a lot of bluebloods own their conference or regions (I accept Penn State because of their dominance in the East, not because of what they are in the Big 10; same goes for Nebraska in the Big 8 and Big 12, but not the Big 10). I think Nebraska and Penn State are sliding down into that sub-group now, becoming the LSU/Auburn/Georgia etc of the Big 10.
