Don’t tell the JD haters Bama would strangle a dolphin to have him at starting QB.

Joe Burroe spoiled us so bad then when a QB has any kind of flaws in general we knee jerk and say he’s bad.

Does he make mistakes? Absolutely. Underthrown long balls, staring down guys a bit. Sure.

Objectively though he’s probably the best QB in the league.

I am opposite of the woke crowd but the only thing I can think is racism. Downvote away but if some gritty baw was the QB with these stats he’d probably have a cult of personality supporting him.

I don't think there has been a WR in LSU history that has put up better numbers (recs and yards) in the first 4 games of the season that Malik Nabers.

32 recs, 523 yards, 5 TDs.

Only other one close is Terrace Marshall 2020 (COVID, Air Raid offense) 27 recs, 512 yards, 9TDs.

How about this STAT: In his first season as a starter he led his team to finish in FIRST PLACE in the Division, just curious what were your opinion on Burrow's first year starting, since STATS don't matter to you?

Charlie Mac used to rotate Jones as an example.
You can’t compare eras because of how the game has changed. For example, LSU FOR YEARS would run run pass. What does that do? That tells the defense that they are going to pass on third down. There was no guessing. Jones had 1 receiver to at was worth a darn and frankly they didn’t practice passing like they did running. It is ALL ABOUT COACHING. It is why so many fans were screaming when Miles was HC.
If you think Daniels is the second best QB of all time at LSU, you haven’t been a fan very long. For example until this season, he hardly would throw into coverage. His coach called him out. What does that do? MAKES YOU HAVE FAR LESS INTS. I would have preferred more INTS last season than “winning the west” because I believe they would have been in the playoffs and not lost to TAMU or UGA. For damn sure not FSU. Throwing downfield opens his game up JUST LIKE BURROW. Is it play calling? It wasn’t for Daniels last season. It was for Burrow in 2018 and every other QB in LSU history.
The game is so different and these comparisons are fruitless.

Daniels under threw several passes in the first half and even on the TD to Thomas. He doesn’t have nearly the arm as Jones or Russel or his own teammate Nuss. Does he need it? Nope. Not if he sees the field, take some chances and allows the game to come to him.
Here is a tidbit on Jones from people who saw him live and coached him:
The 1976 regular season was Jones's finest as a professional; he threw for 3,104 yards and a career-high 24 touchdowns, compiling a passer rating of 102.5. He was one of only three quarterbacks to achieve a 100+ passer rating during the entire decade of the 1970s, joining Dallas's Roger Staubach (1971) and Oakland's Ken Stabler (1976). Jones was honored by the Associated Press as 1976's NFL Most Valuable Player[7] and NFL Offensive Player of the Year,[8] selected first-team All-Pro,[9] and named to the Pro Bowl team. He was also selected second-team All-Pro following the 1977 season.
Longtime scout Ernie Accorsi is quoted as saying that if Bert Jones had played under different circumstances, he probably would have been the greatest player ever. John Riggins has been quoted as saying Jones was the toughest competitor he has ever witnessed.[14] On the eve of Super Bowl XLII, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, in discussing his choices for the greatest quarterbacks of all time, described Jones as the best "pure passer" he had ever seen.[15]

This is maybe the only website left on earth that will not ban you for admitting you only hate Daniels because he’s black

Jesus.

Everyone can see it, but quite noticeably you can’t even say it. It’s that mysterious.

You’re THAT guy. The guy few people can tolerate at game watch parties. The guy who believes proper QB assessment is made with the more nebulous categories: will to win, eye test, moxy, … what other non-quantifiable categories used by ESPN talking heads am I missing?

it’s the only conclusion I have for the Daniels haters. Kid is playing lights out this season, and my gump friends would be the first to tell you they would kill for Jayden to be their QB atm.

This is so retarded. If he’s not playing last night we lose….period. I have been a huge critic of JD, was losing my f’n mind in the first half. But I’m onboard now. Dude showed out in the second half and last drive of the first.

Winning the west not tangible enough for you?

It’s clear that a vast amount of the fan base does not understand the shitshow this program was heading into 21-22.

There’s still a long way to go, but the guy is killing it and you’re clinging to “the data is skewed.”

Yeah man. Stop using facts for the basis of your argument.

That’s literally what you just said. Yikes.

Pace is key, you got that right. If LSU can play with a quick pace JD tends to make better decisions.

You are a little snot nosed kid AND a coward. For those that can read, here is the rest of the sentence (and paragraph). There are some really defensive weak minded children up in here that defend to just defend without any context to support a claim. My point was LSU would have been a playoff team and SEC Champion last season had he thrown downfield all season. His game is at another level when he does.

we're not talking about one stat that's easily explained away.

We're talking about every viable, meaningful statistic that demonstrates a successful quarterback. Your emotions are clouding your viewpoint
