Expect the schedule deck to be entirely reshuffled.

Mathematically it would not work to simply plug the two new opponents into slots on the calendar. Perhaps traditional slots will be preserved (Bama-UT, UF-UGA, LSU-Bama, Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl), but overall they're gonna have to move a LOT of pieces.

I am all for this. I don't like Ole Miss at home on September 26.

I agree. I think I counted six SEC games scheduled before Sept. 26. I guess they could slap them at the end of the season, but there will likely be gaps and problems with open dates. It's a shell game that affects all teams' schedules once you start moving games.

I agree.

When I read the "strength of schedule" comment, I thought that they would try to reshuffle the entire schedule by trying to give all teams a similar strength of schedule based on last year's results.

Obviously, that would not be perfect, but it seems like the entire schedule would need to be redone if there is any possibility of that happening.

The one thing I did wonder about is would they keep the same East and West alignments? Or, would they simply take the top 2 teams after a reshuffling of the schedule that did not take into effect the East v. West alignment, e.g., we wouldn't necessarily play both Auburn and Alabama just because they are both in the West?

Certainly, Alabama will retain their bye week before having to play us.

No. SEC has already said that they are maintaining the divisions and not doing like what the ACC is doing.

When they spoke about SOS, they were speaking in reference of just the 2 additional game opponents.

So they are maintaining the scheduled games as is (maybe not necessarily the same dates) and then adding 2 teams trying as best they can to balance SOS.

Currently LSU is playing theoretically the #2 and #5 teams in the East. So adding a TN and Mizz or Vandy would have us playing the #’s 2, 3, 5, and 6/7 teams. Averaging the perceived strength rankings of this team would give us an avg of 4-4.25.

Currently, Bama plays UGA and TN, which would be the #’s 1 and 3 teams. So if they were to add SC and Vandy (perceived 5 & 7 teams), then they would have an avg of 4, which would be the same as LSU.

Everyone can’t end up at a 4; but can be somewhere around that, which would be a perceived balance of the strength of teams everyone has to play.

In every way possible I want my life back. I'm taking Os own words here. I will watch them play at midnight in a pasture. Just put it on TV. Don't care who it is, don't care when it is, just give me my life back.

It will be interesting to see how much the schedule makers manipulate the schedule to accommodate Alabama. Look for them to get Vandy before Auburn and open dates prior to LSU and Georgia, and Arkansas prior to Texas A & M.

Meanwhile LSU gets Tennessee before Florida, A&M, Auburn and Kentucky back to back with open dates prior to Vandy and South Carolina.

A reshuffled SEC schedule would most likely lead to Alabama
playing Tennessee and Auburn, and then most likely in no particular order, Arkansas, Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, Vandy again, SOuth Carolina, Kentucky and then another game with Vandy

Every team will have an open date Dec 12(to account for possible reschedule)so Bama can't have 2 byes prior to games.
We win a title and still all we do is act like a victim to Bamas SEC control. Now compare this with the country's current state of affairs and tell me how they're different from a definition standpoint. "Victim syndrome" is real and embarrassing

Would benefit LSU given our November schedule for this year. I don't have any problem opening with Ole Miss though. The talent disparity is massive.

You mean the same way we always have a bye week before playing Alabama?

This entire conference is predicated on the Alabama schools getting what they want. Bama/UT and Au/Uga.

frick them. Flip a coin and schedule fair and square.

This. The entire permanent crossover games all came about to save those two “traditional” games.

Rest assured Skanky & the good ol’ boys will take care of Bammer. Couldn’t show their face around Birmingham if they didn’t.

We will be opening in Lexington, KY is my guess. Home opener will be Tennessee on Oct 3.

For you children that don't know, LSU v Old Ms should always be on the Halloween weekend. End of lesson.

GREAT chance to undo the permanent rivalry BS.

Instead, an Alabama alum will give us another fricking bridge schedule
