Remember the bridge schedule?

Where Bama was supposed to play UGA and we were supposed to play Vandy, but for reasons that were never explained the games were switched and we ended up with UGA?

Yeah, I expect us to get the short end of the stick here. Don't expect any night games for a couple years.

Since it's not a conference game, I don't think it will be on CBS. It will likely be televised by ABC again. The SEC has no control over ABC.

Why not both? Bama schedule their non conference games at night and LSU too.

Utah State is the Alumni Tiger Band game, so it probably will be at night. Arkansas is anyone's guess.

Hey Cecil, Bama gets to pick shitty Tennessee as their permanent East rival...please acknowledge the advantage of that...

It really has been an advantage. Tennessee has been dog crap Saban's entire tenure at bama. It's like an extra non-conference game for bama.

Alabama traded an easy win against Tennessee every year for playing day games.

I hope it is a 2:30 game, sunny, hot and humid. The east sideline will be brutal.

Florida is bigger, faster, and stronger than Tennessee so LSU players are put in "more danger" by having to play Florida every year.

if Alabama plays night games for safety, then permanent cross opponents should be done away with for safety

I don’t think he was bitching about conference games but non conference games. Bama has played New Mexico St. at 3:00 and now has USM at 11. Ga Southern and Northwestern St are both night games for LSU. Will be interesting to see what happens next season. You know Bama will push it and it will be interesting to see if Woodward holds them off

This has nothing to do with SEC games. Those are handpicked by TV and SEC teams don't have a say so on TV schedule. It mostly depends on the teams records.

Bama's complaint is that the non conf games are the ones being affected especially the early ones when temps soar in the 90's during Sept. If they had a better opponent than it might not work out that way.

UGA/ND is on CBS b/c it’s @ UGA. NBC televised it last year at ND I believe. So if that is the case, CBS will choose either Bama or Texas for 7pm and the other at 2:30. Depends on how the season finishes but I think they’d go with Texas for 7pm. Saturday’s game had the highest rating of the year so far and they’d pull in a larger audience. Bama and LSU will both have new QB’s. Ehlinger Will be back for UT.

Bama and UGA play regular season next year. That’s a pretty good bet to be the CBS prime time game.

The television networks will not take that into consideration when picking their games and kickoff times.

Texas may be early enough that its outside of the reach of the CBS agreement. Only I think one or two years have they broadcast week 1 or 2 games. Usually it starts with week 3.

I think you're right. I expect CBS will schedule their primetime game for LSU-Texas. I just wish they'd do more primetime games per year. I get the TV ratings are typically greater at 2:30 on Saturdays, but the big games draw lots of viewers.
