276 feet, not 92. He was 92 YARDS behind per the black boxes and video. Not feet.

awyer talk —- do you know what they are referring to when they state “black box”. Every vehicle built since 2014 has a “black box” (Event Data Recorder). They retrieved this from all vehicles. It provides the objective data relative to speed before hard breaking , breaking, and impact (if your vehicle had an impact). They applied this objective data to the video (which is also objective ) to determine KL could not have contributed to the cause of this accident. Things how they KNOW for a fact he was 276 feet behind the accident when it occurred. So continue to stand on that wall you built and lose what little credibility you had left on this board. You can show some balls and admit you misunderstood the actual facts of the investigation or continue on with this absurdity. It is a message board , so by all means continue to troll if you like. Just know in doing so that no one here will ever take anything you say seriously in any way.

There’s no way you are this stupid. Jesus frick once again.

If this is true, a few people ought to go to jail.

In fairness though, for some reason I remembered this happening at about 3 AM….

The law is 100ft per the attorney in the video

It's interesting that law seems to be a big deal to his attorney while the fact that he was allegedly passing multiple times in an illegal passing zone was not.

Spoiler alert, they're no passing zones for a reason, because it's super dangerous and can cause wrecks.

I seem to remember the law enforcement agency of record stating very publicly that they had evidence to charge

Evidence to charge and evidence to convict are completely separate things.

One person giving a written statement is reasonable suspicion to charge.

This might need to be repeated for a lot of slow folk here.

The DA can charge directly or use the grand jury for something like this. The grand jury 90% of the time does what the DA wants.

SO of the defense by chance had it prior to GJ, what can they do with it? Not much at that point right? I’d have to think they looked into video of the accident.

I myself don't do felony criminal work (have friends on both sides of that coin), so I don't want to say for sure, but they likely couldn't do anything with it in terms of publishing. It (1) could have been produced under seal; (2) it could lead to pretty severe sanctions against defense counsel; or (3) it could risk tainting the jury pool.

Damn, so he committed suicide over something he was completely innocent in? That's even more heartbreaking.

I feel terrible myself, because I know I absolutely talked trash about him from the initial reports. Somebody somewhere needs to get the pants sued off them. Just wow.

I'm sorry but killing someone then driving away without alerting first responders is shitty by itself, now he's shooting warning shots at family members and getting involved in high speed chases?

Sorry but if he wasn't good at football we'd call him a thug and say good riddance.

I'm sorry for his family but doesn't sound like society lost a model citizen.

Based on what? What part of this investigation leads you to believe that Lacy passing cars 100 yards back caused the people in front of him to get into a collision?

The DA all but admitted it themselves.

That I do not know, and the video does not show that, because a sign (?) blocks the view to the left.

The video shows the accident happen about 30-40 seconds before Kyren's car makes an appearance. The accident happened in front of him, not behind him.

Thanks. I think I remember his attorney talking about the accident and describing it and that KL wasn’t at fault. This may be why he kept talking him to hold on .. and that he felt it’d be nothing against him.

I’m so sad about this.

The cops based their entire investigation off of the lady that caused the accidents statement. ?

And the girl driver said she was listening to her tunes and eating funyons (while she was tailgating). The LS Trooper told the man what to put in the report and that his brakes locked up to miss Kyren......

I wonder if the trooper knew the girl.

You have no other answer for why the gold truck supposedly abruptly stopped and swerved out of the way starting the chain of events.
