sometimes experience can cure this problem. Lee hasn't been given that opportunity. we will never really know what he could do because he won't get the chance.

I always thought that Lee could be a decent QB if you let him take most of his snaps out of the shotgun - let him run the 2 minute drill type offense. there has been precedent for QB's who can run this offense very well but not a standard set. From what little we have seen, Lee is more comfortable and more effective in this offense.

of course, we don't have enough track record to know for sure, since he has been pretty much shut out since his freshman year.

Like many others, since JJ is the guy, i hope he has the breakout senior year like that QB from Auburn, whose name eludes me at the moment.

J. Lee won't step into one of these from 1st Round Draft Pick - Von Miller ... He'll run backwards and throw off of his back foot, first.

Jefferson has had a part in all the wins if you think otherwise then you haven't been watching them play. Just as lee came in and provided some game saving plays, jefferson has done the same. If Lee had started the whole season there is no way we finish 11-2 so look at the whole scope of things and not a couple of plays here and there.

It's obvious it is mental with Lee. He is a superior QB to JJ but his mind doesn't allow him to soar to his potential.

A little of the pampering JJ gets and support from the O-Line could go a long way.

this is an opinion. no way to know.

Just the same for the statement - without lee coming in off the bench we would have lost 3 more games. Yes, Lee made the plays we needed to win, but JJ could've made the plays had he stayed in the ball game. Would he have? we all have an opinion about that. JJ lovers give JJ credit for the rest of the game, no matter how bad he was. They also refuse to give credit to Lee for the plays he made.

It's hopeless.

ignorance at it's best... either you just started watching during Cotton Bowl or selective memory. Lee has stood in pocket and taken shots just as well as Jefferson has.

You never know, of course if Jefferson played 100% of the snaps last year I could say there is no way we finish 11-2 as well

Really? So he throw's off of his back foot why? Because he steps into his throws backwards?

Arrogant think you know so much prick.

Yes cause 100% of his passes are off his backfoot, just like 100% of Jefferson's passes are him stepping into the throw

Watch more games

JJ has plain arse sucked in a majority of starts.
If Lee did not set a record for pick 6s in his freshman year, JJ would have been riding the pine.

People who continue to point to 2008 when Lee was a freshman, as why he should not start (if Jefferson suspended) are just as bad as point who say Jefferson can not improve. Lee has improved in certain areas but yes he still has a gunslinger mentality. I think if he starts he will be fine, LSU isn't losing much/if anything with Lee as the starter.

Lee never got the same shot as JJ did after 08 and it's a shame, with more game experience he could have been good. Also he's never been allowed to get into the flow of the game since.

Not true, he had Homecoming '09 and failed miserably and above mentioned 4th vs UA game.
Not hatin, just setting it straight.

JL does have some good moments, but he also seems to get scared and throws it up for grabs sometimes.

That being said, the question very well may be which one of the Sr. QBs responds to the coaching of Krag and overcomes their respective problems.

So I guess that means JJ is not good at practice or games?

Myth; he's not a great practice QB

Unless he's improved a ton since last year, JJ still gives us the best chance to win.
