matt, if OSU was to win bedlam, you believe they'll still overtake Oregon and Alabama if they're also with one loss or would they need one of them to lose to reduce competition for votes?

you are mistaken, LSU was #1 in every poll

and when there's a problem with the top 2 of the computers (like in 2007), the voters are nice enough to fix it and make everyone happy.

That said, LSU should remain top 2 computer polls without a loss or with 1 loss?

That's my understanding.

Matt,

One question from me as I see it...

OSU's loss solidifies LSU as the across the board #1 in the computers?

unlike some, I will admit my oversight.

I stand corrected..

LSU still kicks the shite out of whomever we play

it doesn't matter, really

I mean, it's probably slightly better for us if they do, but it's pretty inconsequential.

Well, you have the Arkansas issue, if we should happen to lose a close one, and then there's the having to play Georgia at the Georgia Dome, while Alabama sits back and waits to see if you can win to play them, after you beat them at their place, issue.

So, I think I'd just as soon keep Oregon in the mix, because we're going to win any tiebreakers with them from the voters, and they can only help us in the long run, IMO.

There are 2 ways to think about this:

1. Oregon winning out means LSU's computer ranking gets stronger and yes, they sort of provide a blocker in the human polls because you have to put LSU over OU

2. There are 2 spots in the NC and if enough teams lose, LSU will be the only legit team left
