I am worried that if LSU loses to Arkansas, with Alabama being #2, LSU will undoubtedly fall behind Bama. Only question is whether #5 Arkansas passes LSU. If that happens we have no chance at the SEC Title game much less the BCS Title game.

its awesome, no way we drop with a loss. now a team we beat would teplace us at #1 if at all

a one loss Arky/Bama and sec champ would likely jump us.

I think that's assuming way too much.

not in the BCS, opinion polls will be squishy and our computer number will be far and away #1 still

fortunately for us, we go to the SECCG over Arky and Bama in a 3 way tie

Assuming LSU and several one loss teams are fighting for a spot in the BCSCG. Having TWO openings improves our adds. It doesn't guarantee anything, however.

We can and will beat Alabama.

Not necessarily. Depends on where they rank us.

That was my thought. Actually may give LSU grace in case of a loss.

Why? I agree with Matt. If LSU were to stumble in a close game against Arkansas or Georgia, they would certainly be considered one of the top two teams. The only possible down side to this is that most of us were salivating at the thought of LSU tearing up Ok St. Oregon or Alabama would be a tougher opponent.

BUT, you have to get there first, and LSU is a virtual lock now.

I don't see how you can project this. If Arky is in the top 5 when we play, and they beat us, I can easily see us falling below them in the standings. We don't go if that happens.

Did you see what I posted on the first page?

I really would like to hear what you have to say about that. My dad and I are talking about it and we're pretty stumped.

Why?

I posted why on the first page. Too much uncertainty with the voters if we lose. Watching ESPN you can just feel the media ready to turn on us and tell every Harris poll idiot to vote Oregon and Bama. Hopefully our strong computer score would be able to overcome the coaches and Harris though.

I didn't say I disagreed with him. That was someone else that said that.

I asked him a question and I would really like to see what his answer is.

The only way LSU is guaranteed a spot in the NCG is if we are virtually guaranteed to stay ahead of Arkansas if Ark beats us. Are you saying that is the case?

Because Ark's computer ranking <<<< LSU or Bama's. They would have to be the unanimous choice by the voters and that it isn't likely as long as they don't kill us.

Right now, it looks very unlikely Arkansas passes LSU in the BCS with a win over LSU. If a bunch of other games go poorly, I may change my tune
