I’m still disappointed that LSU-UF is not happening this year and next year.

Not playing Auburn and Florida every year is the cost we paid to import a bunch of fruits from Texas into the conference.

And it was not worth it.

Go back to 12 teams.

It has been one of the better rivalries in football even though UF has FSU and UGA.

Who cares about the UF series in the grand scheme of things. The expectation every year should be make the playoffs and compete for a national title.

If we don't play UF to make the playoff chances better, who cares. I could care less if we played Bama every year, if you told me that would result in us making the playoffs every year.

Agreed. The A&M and Arky games are annoying and those are not fun fanbases to party with, unlike Florida and Auburn which are great fanbases and respectable programs who we have had many important games against over the years.

the 2019 UF game was my 2nd favorite win of the season. up till then the only test we had was TX, and we were still in a "is this thing really happening" mode.

after that the stops were all out and middle fingers up

It’s bullshite.

Losing Alabama, Auburn and Florida for teams like Vandy and Mizzou doesn’t help our brand.

I still don’t recognize Arkansas and South Carolina as SEC members. Go back to 10 teams.

I’m probably in the minority, but I miss the old days when winning the conference was the goal. I certain watched more games than I do today (that may be a function of other responsibilities though).

I will always bleed purple and gold, but I am becoming much less a fan of the sport.

The same thing happened to me with the NFL— I follow the Saints but if their not involved I’m disinterested.

Even though we’ve won a few recently, they’re almost always battles. This is one of the great unsung series in college football since the early 50s. The only time it got lopsided was when Spurrier was kicking the crap out of us every year to prove a point. I’ve said the same thing about the Auburn series which started in earnest when we went to divisions in 1992.

Two classic series that are going away because of “progress.”

It is SUCH a classic matchup-the games are great every year. I will miss this one.

I can't believe he threw a shoe.
Look at him throw that shoe.

Yep. First time since 1970 LSU and Florida will not have played in football. Colorful series, for sure.

Would've traded UF and Auburn vs. LSU every year instead of TAMU/Ole Piss every year. Liked those 2 rivalries more. TAMU has kinda owned us lately but I've never really viewed that as a strong rivalry even before.
