Possible, sure

Realistic, no

Not sure why this is so difficult for some people to grasp

So according to this, say I’m working on a project at work with a group and a better job opportunity opens up somewhere else for me I’d have to tell them either wait for me or move on? I’m sure that happens every day.

The true cause of all of this is the early signing day. Teams that are in the coaching hunt want a coach in place for early signing day. The minds that be who thought early signing day was a good idea have created this mess, and I am sure ESPN has something to do with this due to the huge influence that they have on college football. As Saban said on gameday, "This is a college football problem," and it has to be fixed. This would be a non-story if Lane was leaving for a different school.

he other thing that pisses me off about this is the players can leave the second The portal opens with no strings attached. Why are we acting like these players are prisoners of the program and don’t have options themselves. The players actually have more options than the coaches, because the players are essentially on 6 month contracts.

So why are we so concerned with coaches being loyal to players that have almost zero loyalty to the programs and the coaches themselves? The whole thing is beyond stupid

This

The kids are making money now and can leave at the drop of the hat, OM's roster is built on dudes that "abandoned" other programs for greener pastures. Stop with the sob stories, they're big boys and most understand the move.

Other jobs dont have a major deadline immediately following the end of the season that completely dictates who will be a part of your team.

LSU was always going to have a coach before signing day. Thats an asinine expectation to have us wait.

You might wanna rethink your stance on Kay Adams.

Kay was putting out some serious vibes to cooper

even if Cooper didn’t play basketball in high school, he is an NFL safety. He would destroy Clark because she wouldn’t be able to handle his strength.

Those clips were from 6 years ago, he is bigger, faster and stronger now

The other thing that cracks me up bilge is how everyone is acting like if Kiffin had coached the playoff game he would have unfettered access to Ole Miss players and would be recruiting them to LSU. Like that won’t happen anyway. Now Kiffin is motivated to go after Ole Miss players because of the way, the Ole Miss administration handled his exit.

All of these players have agents, you just call the agent and talk directly to them. You don’t even have to talk to the players.

Their takes are mainly based on emotion and not objectivity The SAME people who jump network to network for opportunity despite relationships being cultivated at their last spots.

You know that bitch would have knocked her grandmother down a flight of stairs to get to her espn promotion from whatever hell hole she was working at before.

I REALLY HATE HYPOCRITES.

I do my best to not ever be one, and I'm sure I fail at times. To me it's one of the worst things you can be.

Lane handled this as fairly as he could based on what we know. The shoe may one day be on the other foot for us one day but I doubt it.

There aren't very many steps up from LSU HC.

Lane tried to make it about the team, hell I think even Ol’ Piss tried to an extent.

The issue is the NCAA has set a calendar that fricks everything up.

If you want a target of your angst target the NCAA.

"Dear [INTREPID SPORTS REPORTER], this is ESPN. Scott Van Pelt's prime evening spot has opened up and we'd like you to consider it, and decide by tomorrow on a large salary and resources. We'll send a plane."

SLOGGING REPORTERS: "No thanks, I will remain here on assignment, supporting my colleagues working with me to cover second-tier stories and feign interest."

In everyone's defense, this process sucks.

These players are professionals now and able to sit out/leave for more money whenever they want, so I no longer have an issue with coaches doing it.

No there isn’t a different way to handle it. Unless the new school is willing to go the year 0 route and accept a completely decimated roster, they have to at least make the official announcement before signing day even if they allow the coach to finish the season.

I can’t take that shite serious. What the hell does she know anyway. Just listen to what Saban said on GD. He lays it out exactly as it is.
