So it's a B+ because he's not from Louisiana. got it. This was the best coaching hire since Jimbo to aTm and will probably pay more dividends.

There is jealousy that analysis or just plain ignorance!! Miles and Saban say hello. For Coach to walk out on a team about to be in the college playoffs are inches away from it, tells you all it needs to say about the hire. This dude is a dumb arse

Good because ESPN is wrong 100% of the time. They never “fact check” though!

But the guy going to Southern California from Oklahoma by way of rural Texas is just a perfect "cultural fit."

I'm sorry but on what planet is Sonny Dykes a better hire than Brian fricking Kelly.

The quality of the hire is comparable based on the school size/pedigree. But in no way is Billy Napier at Florida a better hire than Kelly at LSU, and if "cultural fit" is such an issue, why isn't anyone going to mention that for Lincoln Riley?

Unfortunately, he’s going to be punished by the media for leaving “The Gold Standard of College Football” until he wins a national championship. Unfair and harsh, but not unexpected

The concern is fit and whether Kelly, a Massachusetts native who has spent his entire coaching career in the Midwest, will handle the unique circumstances that come at LSU

What does this even mean?

Gerry Dinardo, no issue

Nick Saban, no issue

Les Miles, no issue

This has to be one of those “can’t find anything negative to bring up, so here’s a plug and play for you.”

The grade that counts isn't and A, B or C.....it a W......and we will only know what the grade is after next season is over.

some would consider Kelly a better coach than the previous two Tigers bosses (Ed Orgeron and Les Miles).

Uhhh…. Show me one person who honestly thinks either Miles or Ed is a better coach than BK.

Now I want USC to get seeded against LSU in the playoff, so Lincoln will get his shite pushed in again by the Tigers.

But seriously, ESPN is just media, and media makes their coin off of sensationalism. They'll grade the "sexy" hire above everything else.

I think Brian Kelly is EXACTLY who LSU needs right now, a man to build this program into a machine. That’s what LSU needed, and Woodward made that happen. That’s what makes Brian Kelly an A+ hire. He’s an A+ hire for LSU.

I guarantee if Florida had hired Kelly and LSU hired Nappier. The ratings would have been totally different. The would have said Florida was able to pull Kelly away from Norte Dame with money and a wealth of talent in state.

LSU with Nappier: On paper it makes sense, just 60 miles from BR, but will his success on the G5 level carryover to LSU.

They say he is a future hall of famer, but then give the hire a B+.

Riley is an A hire for USC, but Kelly took a shitty ND program and got them to the playoffs multiple times and the NC game. Riley inherited a program that was already kicking arse. OU won 41 games in Stoops last four years there and had three top 6 finishes. Riley was OC for the last two, but he didn't have to work nearly as hard as Riley did because ND was crappy for about 2 decades.

And that’s an ESPN+ article behind a $6.99 per month paywall. They expect people to pay for this drivel?!!?!

ESPN has lost their minds.
