Even with the performances Cabrera and Duplantis had, Walker was still my favorite part of the night.

You can just tell that dude is a baller. As Orgeron would say he doesn't blink

Here's my two cents on Walker.

CPM was trying to nicely remove him from the Sunday role, because he thought Hill may be better. You'll see.

Tonight - Walker
Sunday - Hill
Wednesday - Walker
Weekend Relief - Walker
Sunday - Hill

By that point, we go into Texas with the better of Hill and Walker as the new Sunday starter, and they hold that spot for the majority of the rest of the season barring major set backs.

Walker is a better starter then Hess.

Walker was our best pitcher 2 years ago. Hess just decided to be the best postseason guy on the team (if not the entire league) that year. Walker was so damn consistently good in 17. He is Greg Maddux’s son by how they pitch. (Had to edit this to clarify to someone that Im aware Maddux and Walker arent related).

Some pitchers are just wired to be closers/relievers, that is Hess

Walker wasn't better than Lange and Poche but that starting rotation was stacked.

Nope! Walker needs to stretch out gradually. He is a weekend starter.

It is simply an analogy of their pitching styles. Dont get your panties in a wad kid.

Edit: my bad, my wording was wrong.

His numbers were more consistent than those guys that year. Lange had a string of bad games. And Poche, well he is an all time guy, but Walker flat out had a better year.

Edit: Ill call myself out. Just looked at the numbers of Lange, Poche, and Walker for 2017 and Walker had the worst ERA (not that it was bad by any means), but I thought Walker was the most “consistent” pitcher that year. We had 3 studs that year.

The best teams we will play (in first 2 weeks of the season) are Tuesday--SLU and Wed--@NW State. We better pitch well in those games or they'll be two losses.

You're the one who said Walker was banging Greg Maddux's son

My wording was piss poor. I’ll accept that.

He pitches like Greg Maddux and he doesnt bang children.****

Yeah I personally would have Hess as our Jared Bradford and make him the main reliever in crucial moments/closer role, but Im not the coach. I respect Paul’s love for Hess being the Friday guy, but I think it could be better for the team another way.

But we’ll see. Ill give it some time before I throw Hess under the bus. Only 1 game.

He was better than Poche in 2017. Not a knock on Poche, but Walker was that good as a freshman.
