Yeah, you should check one out sometime.

so you are cool with subjective interpretation, evidently because if not, then you couldn't hold this position.... keep in mind, someone else, with an opposing view point could have the EXACT same response to this question as you did, and in that case, who would be right? see, there's a reason we have objective rules and regulations on things that really matter, so we can avoid this open interpretation/opinion bullshite....
Yes

because you wouldn't dare tell someone to take off their hat during the anthem or to put their hand over their heart, or do any one of the trivial things you say "must" be done during the anthem.... you, in all likelihood, didn't say peep, because you know that your standard is NOT the standard of every single individual, thus, you should stay quiet and mind your own fricking business, rather than try to tell someone else what is and is not correct to do during the anthem...
Or, I've just been really lucky and been around good people that acted in the proper, respectful way.

Probably not

Yep

I’ll ask you again, since you seem like a dutiful SJW. What exactly is this viewpoint, and why do you think it holds merit?

Why don't you walk us through how kneeling during the national anthem equates to hating the military?
It makes no sense.

I don’t think it does.
Of course I don’t know how kneeling equates to oppression or police genocide or whatever, either. Makes no sense.
Now, can you or the other SJW tell me why they’re even kneeling and why their reasoning has merit?

I'm not going to try to explain the black experience in America to someone who is clearly not open to listening.
Besides... This should be on OT or Poli Board.

There are ways to call to action things you feel need to be addressed
Like taking a knee during a time that triggers people into taking notice?

Disrespecting the country, the men and women who have fought and died for you to have freedom, the national anthem
You know the original people that fought for America's Freedom also fought for the right to protest. The Boston tea party wasnt seen as patriotic, nor was rising up against a king.

If you want to see some change, go into the inner cities, set up events where the kids can talk to the cops and maybe then they could understand each other better.
So do it in a way that doesn't "dishonor" an inanimate object or a crappy song because other people fought for the right to protest?
Soundview conservatives have really lost sight of what made this country and what this country is about. Who wants to live in a country where you always have to think of the military first? And when's the last time they actually fought for our freedom?
I'm not trying to disrespect the troops here because most of the time they're just kids being sent to do some rich man's bidding to line his pockets but i dont see how a peaceful protest undermines those lives. If you quit listening to conservative radio for 5 minutes you probably realize how stupid all of that really sounds

Honestly probably. Don't disrespect the national anthem and the soldiers that fight for the rights for the players to play. Any other time they can do whatever their spoiled asses want imo

Yes it does forever! The people, families, veterans are sending a message, are you listening!!!!!

The national anthem gets ugly in the rarely heard 3rd verse:
"No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave."
Francis Scott Key, the author of our national anthem, was a slaveholder that believed blacks to be “a distinct and inferior race of people, which all experience proves to be the greatest evil that afflicts a community.” It was clear that he did not intend to include blacks in "the land of the free."
As our national anthem includes language about sending slaves to their graves, it includes the oppression of blacks. ...Hence the protest.

Your experience; are you listening to your self? Maybe the family experiences of dead family members whose husbands, sons, daughters have returned to the United States in wooden boxes with our flag draped across it can not be explained to you. Always about you, you, you, the winey, self centered, feel sorry for my self, left that tries to attach itself to anything that justifies your socialist agenda. Pathetic. You live in the greatest country in the world, but you are doing your best to destroy it.

Disagree with him all you want, say he could use energy in better ways, but the man is set for life and he isn't doing what is easy. He doesn't have to do a social protest, but he is. It would be a whole lot easier for him to not kneel. Why be "disappointed" in a Tiger for having a social consciousness when they don't have to have on? Whatever happened to respectful disagree in this country?
Oh please. It’s moral preening in the worst way.

Why don't YOU walk us through how kneeling for the National Anthem accomplishes anything but division? You gotta beef? Do something about it. Get off your arse and DO.
Disrespecting our country offends the vast majority of people here. you don't like America...take your craft to another country.
End of story

Oh bullshite. This was a post facto justification. That verse isn’t even part of the anthem as played, and your interpretation ignores the context of the verse.

If it is anything like the plight you described that you "went through" for the PoliBoard then it is probably best you don't.

I'm all about respectfully disagreeing except in cases like this when his disagreement is disrespectful to begin with. He absolutely has the right to do what he's doing and I have the right not to like and to speak out. That's what makes this country (the very one is protesting) so great.

You obviously don't have a loved one who has died in combat. If you did, you wouldn't be blowing it off like not having your morning cappuccino.
