Eric Reid is up early trying to burn bridges with the LSU football program

Eric Reid’s Locker Room Tweet
It seems as though he’s making his best effort to have everyone hate him.

I already don’t like him. Just saying

That seemed like more of a shot to his current team Carolina than anything.

He's such a whiny bitch. Typical leftwing nut job

Frick Eric Reid, but I didn’t see any bridge burning there.

It is not all the schools fault and it definitely is not the coaches fault the players aren’t paid. The schools are the ones actually using the money the players bring in to build them nice things like the locker room.
I believe players should be able to make money off themselves but I do not necessarily think they need to be paid by the universities. Education, facilities, and the connections they make for their future is plenty of compensation from the universities. The NCAA should allow them to market themselves and make some money.

Al much as I love LSU football and that locker room. The man is right. It's kinda bullshite that they can build that, but not give the players any type of money for cost of living. And don't tell me their scholarship is enough money to survive on... I been to college, I was starving, even with a full ride.

I understand his point but the argument isn’t that there isn’t money there to pay them lol

I'll grant him this...he has a fair point.
Eventually, all of these amenities and luxuries for student-athletes are going to jump the shark.
However, as someone who has worked multiple non-paying internships in a field directly tied to athletics, it irritates me that student-athletes act as though they receive little to no benefit whatsoever from receiving an athletic scholarship.
The fact is that the NCAA is a broken and highly flawed system. Coaches salaries, athletic facilities, and revenue are almost unrecognizable in magnitude from the inception of the NCAA.
Still, the ability to prosper off of and benefit so greatly from athletic talent alone makes me a bit jaded in defending these guys. They are always welcome to pursue other professional avenues if they don't agree with this system.
The cold reality is that college sports CANNOT be sustained if the decision is ever made to pay athletes. The system will absolutely crumble due to both the expected and unforeseen legal and financial issues that will inevitably arise.

I'm not saying it's enough but athletes do get cost of attendance allowances in addition to the full ride

Schools in the power 5 yes there is plenty money but schools like ULL that already need state tax dollars to fund athletic department not so much. The players should be allowed by the NCAA to make money of themselves. If someone wants to pay a player 1000 dollars to sign some autographs why can’t he do that?

well there isn't money to pay everyone, pursuant to the law (Title 9)

about 1% of college athletes help to generate income for the school. Should we align payments only with profitable football and basketball programs?

Man, where does this paying thing supposed to stop. My High school made a couple bucks off us.

He is saying his locker room at LSU 7 years ago, just read again,
"The locker room when I was at LSU 7 years ago was better than the current one in Carolina. But there’s no money to compensate these young men for the revenue they bring to the school #JustSayingf
Reading is FUNdamental!

First-class upgrades such as this locker room and nutrition center are a pretty good exchange for payment though, right?
