Getting injured does not make you soft. It’s just unfortunate. Nobody chooses or wants to be injured.

Transfers will benefit most programs and players since it will mostly consistof backups goingwhere they can start. LSU has benefitted tremendously from transfers. Even this season we got a likely starter at LB, a rotation player on the OL and lose a backup at a position loaded with talent. I hope Eric Monroe has a phenomenal season at a smaller school.

Question is are you hurt or injured? He’s been “hurt” since high school

He was injury prone since high school. Team player but kind of soft

I think he still
Has a very high ceiling. Not being able to play much at LSU in defensive backfield doesn’t mean that much. Wish him all the best

Hurts safety depth but I certainly understand the kid at this point in his career wanting to play more.
Already got his Natty.

I wish him the best....thanks for being a Tiger, Eric.

Remember when he committed to LSU. I thought he was as can’t miss a prospect as there is. Injuries really de-railed him. Someone is getting a great talent, hope he stays healthy and makes an impact.

So at safety, we have Stevens, Hampton, Harris, Toles,C Lewis, and maybe Vincent?

I think so. Can’t really afford to have a man go down or we’re gonna be playing some really young guys. Lewis, Harris, and Stevens will be gone next year. We need to sign 3 safeties this year.

A little thin. Sure would like Monroe to stay.... he could always remove himself from the portal...

Anyone that thinks Stevens is still playing safety is fooling themselves. He's a LB. If he's a full time safety then our back end is lacking.

We are stacked in the secondary

He’ll play safety in nickel and in base when we expect a run or in the red zone. In short I expect him to play a lot of safety.

I was surprised Monroe never developed for whatever reason.
Some have pointed out how he flashed against Auburn in a big home game as a freshman. Back then, kids like Jacoby Stevens were squandering to find a spot on the team. I really thought back then he’d turn out to be a multi-year starter.
Weird trajectory to his career
