He deserved a raise after 2019, but THAT much? I mean shite, what was he making prior to that? $4,000,000? Give him a 50% raise or tell him to take a hike

LSU paying Ed Orgeron 9 million a year ( after a reduction) should embarrass every resident of this state and every fan.
And it does NOT give me a good feeling about our AD no matter how many fans he has here.
This is ridiculous.

NOT one D1 college would have even offered him a job after 2019. That is what makes it more obscene.
Woodward screwed up. Period.

This thread will go 25 pages of people who won't have to pay $1 towards this buyout complaining about it.

Buyouts that high are unbelievably retarded (even more so when you're already paying the person a ridiculous salary).

I don’t feel too bad about O’s buyout after seeing the others. Jimbo at 95 mill, Dabo at 47.

You won’t feel bad at all IF YOU LOVE LSU. We know that he isn’t getting 1/2 that. So just stop trying to “support the moron in a backhanded way.

7 over 5 no life insurance annuity.

That’s what he will get from my guess a month or so ago.

Obviously he was due a raise after the championship, but this is excessive.

Didn’t his contract require a bump if he won a NC? I could be wrong on that

Soooooo on a completely tangential note, how do I go about becoming a head coach for a p5 football program?

I've never heard of a coach who didn't have that in their contract. The idiots on here ignore that though.

His base is 6. The rest are incentives and insurance which the insurance is done after this season. So if you look at what’s remaining that is 17 (70% of remaining contract with no annuities let to pay). He may get about 7 over 3-5. It just depends on if they want to cut bait sooner or wait.

Help me understand what you are saying about his base at 6 mil.
Is he getting up to 9 million based on “incentives” and, if so, what kind of reasonable “incentive” could he possibly trigger with his performance this year and last?
Asking…

Agree but the 6 year extension and same as Saban was absurd. In the meantime, LSU paid millions and millions from the same mistake with Miles on the ARK scam along with millions and millions to bums like Pellini. Another $20 Million about to be wasted in a few months too on Ogre and his incompetent coaching frauds.
LSU functions as bad as the federal government when it comes to wasting money in the Athletic Department.
