Alabama does it (successfully) all the time. This is a classless program - at the moment….

I don't know if this is true or not but I have read that Saban has a basic scheme for his coordinators to work off of. They may add their own wrinkles or a few plays, but its the same basic offense and defense. Their players never have to learn an entirely new system. The new coaches get the playbook and base whatever they do off of that. Only minor changes, if any at all. Seems to be working over there & it makes sense. Ofcourse they have a roster littered with 4 and 5 star athletes too. That never hurts.

Will the new President care more about wokeness than a successful athletic program that brings in millions.

His campaign manager is a convicted felon. His crime? Falsifying and lying about credentials to get a job he was completely unqualified for. See a pattern?

O as head coach originally was a good idea when his salary was 1/2 that of all the other head coaches. O working for 1/2 price so he can put good people around him was a great idea because we all knew he is not the reason for a championship offense or defense. He 100% relies on his coordinators and by him working for less leaves money for LSU to go out and pay for the top coordinators.

There are only so many Belichicks in the coaching world where the head coaches system is implemented with continued success regardless of who is running it. College football is first and foremost centered around recruiting and secondly around a guy that players want to play for. LSU can't afford to miss on a 8-9 million dollar a year coach.

We have proven to not only win a natty with a 1/2 priced coach, but also put the most successful team college football has ever seen on the field with the highly paid coordinator method.

The problem teams face when going with the coordinator method is replacing the coordinator when they leave. Aranda leaving and the hiring of Pelini really fked us because we had a team built around a 3-4 and in one year was switched to a 4-3 without the proper personnel and our defense still hasn't recovered.

Giving O that big raise after the natty screwed up the system because now we are paying him to be the guy we all know he isn't leaving less money for the coordinators.

Our two biggest problems are running the ball and tackling. O wiffed on Canada but fired him, he wiffed on Pelini and fired him too. We just gonna have to keep firing O's help until he gets the right people or Fire everyone and start over, risking wiffing on a 8-9 million dollar guy that could set us back for years.

Think about it, Texas already fired Tom Herman and Jimbo almost lost to Colorado Saturday. The only coach I've seen that has potential to be the next guy is Dan Mullen and we aren't getting him from Florida.

We have two options, go back to the formula of O making 1/2 and continue processing the coordinators or fire everyone but not until we have the right guy. We don't need reach for a Belichick just because want a change.

No, that's Ponamsky.

Orgeron was that freshly waxed DeLorean sitting on the used car lot, with the gull wings propped open, that Ponamsky sold Alleva

I’m not a O fan these days either but the loss to Troy was probably a good turning point that eventually lead to a Natty. Just like Saban losing to UAB here and His loss to ULM at Bama.

I should've seen the writing on the wall that I guess so many others saw.

Get ready for the future, NIL is here and with or without "O" the LSU Tigers will not be competing for national titles. There will be million dollar contracts being thrown around and I just don't see LSU being able to compete at that level.

My opinion is college athletics will change in a dramatic fashion and the have's will sperate, so I am prepared

But LSU should be competing for national titles even with NIL. This is a $100m per year program with some of the best facilities and a huge fan base. That money for NIL is in the LSU fan base and booster community. The opportunity is certainly there if we have a competent person leading the program.

I knew he was a garbage hire, bitched and complained, and hoped he would shut me up and do a great job. 2019 happened, I was THRILLED he proved me wrong, but nope, I was right the whole time, he just had EVERYTHING line up for him that year.

For the imbeciles on here, I (and any true tiger fan) am not happy to say I told you so. I want LSU to dominate way more than I want to be right. I would love nothing better than for coach 0 to maintain an elite program. I just know that he's not capable.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all.
Alabama is the measuring stick.

However, it makes it a lot easier when you have the highest operating budget in CFB. They spend twice as much as we do on football operations. We need to start throwing our weight around via the check book. We generate roughly the same amount of revenue, but spend half the money...why?

FKA wanted to make that revenue part of the general fund and that agenda still exists within academia.

Seems like every time we are in a position to really establish ourselves as an elite program, we blow it.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

Major college football programs require a great manager to be successful. A lot has to happen to win. It starts with the coordinators, but you have to have the right assistants. Then you have analysts, recruiting people, trainers, strength coaches, PR people and on and on.
Facilities have to be cutting edge, training tools the best and you have to have new ideas introduced to keep things energized.
Trips to games have to be planned. Recruiting has to be planned. Off-season programs require planning. It’s a year round business requiring year round management. It’s not Charlie Mac’s world anymore.
