Please never be responsible for people working in the field or kids athletics. Just stay right there behind the computer.

I'd like to give UT the benefit of the doubt but obviously this story is getting big enough that they owe everyone an explanation.

If true, has this been a common practice for UT with early Sept (i.e. when really hot) opponents forever or more recent? Are they going to attempt to spin this as a construction situation? Is this another black eye for Herman if he was (more or less) the orchestrator of this happening?

Yeah, it's not like heat causes players to....you know...sweat and lose fluids.

This is where I keep directing my question... Who on LSU's staff was tasked with ensuring this got done.

Seems like someone would have thought to call United Rentals.

They may have thought it was logistically impossible to make that happen...or that it wouldn't have been effective anyway due to the setup.

I wouldn't go throwing stones though because they couldn't figure out a way of installing A/C in a one week period.

There are many ways that you can temporarily cool a space during construction. The company I work for does it all the time. Plenty of places rent this kind of equipment. This was pure, petty bullshite.

I can make a phone call and get enough aggreko units to cool down an entire warehouse and have them installed in a few days.

Texas can go frick themselves on this.

You need a lot more than 20 tons to cool a Locker Room for a football team and staff. Like 4-5 times more. I’m looking at the AHU for the Grizzlies Locker Room at the FedExForum and it’s over 50 tons. And that’s for a 17 man basketball roster and staff. Do the math. Handling that much temporary cooling is a major undertaking for the road team.

Bottom line- The home team needs to own their shite and make their contractors provide temp cooling.

Yep. It’s not cheap, but Texas isn’t poor.

This is what I would have thought. The guy you were replying to likely has no idea but is more than willing to offer a criticism.

I haven't read the thread, but just got this notification..
quote:

LSU football not only had to battle a tough team on the road Saturday, but it also had to survive a hot locker room without air conditioning.

"First of all, I called Louisiana Tech, and they told us about it," Orgeron told reporters, via The Advocate. "So we did some things in the dressing room that were better. It wasn't great, but it was better. At least we had air in there. They didn't have air. We had some blowers in there."

Anyone have a link of where our cheerleaders weren’t allowed on the field during the game? Would like to send to someone

What dummy was spreading that rumor? I took this picture during the game. Those are LSU cheerleaders on the field in the bottom right corner.

Puts band in the nose bleed, doles out minuscule allotment of tickets for visitors, shoots cannon into LSU jersey, dons DBU t-shirts, and NO A/C in visitor locker room.

Pretty chicken shite if you ask me. Not the one, or the two things, but all combined it paints a pretty clear picture of just what kind of operation UTx really is.

They weren’t allowed to be on the field when the players came out.
