Sure it was logical, you just disagree.

I stated that he was not the best QB for Denbrock's system and Denbrock either needed to change systems or recruit different style QBs. It was after this year's Florida State game. It did not age well.

I'll admit I had my doubts at times but those have all been dispelled.
The biggest concern was his lack of vision and progressions. He's playing much smarter football. And his running has improved because of it. The kid has guts and can take a hit.
Pisses me off what dirty Bama did. I believe he might have pulled off a win there or at least made it respectable

I’ll eat my crow.
I never expected to see him get so much better so fast. Doesn’t look like the same player from the FSU game. Bravo to JD. He proved a lot of people wrong, myself included.

I’m not refusing to eat crow. I bet him preseason to win the Heisman at 11-1

Nice - didn’t think he’d be in the race this far into the season especially with the loss to Alabama but all credit to him he’s been fricking phenomenal.
Was looking at the odds on him today to win and they were at +610 then later in the day went down to +350 or thereabouts.

First half of last season I thought they needed to change. Since then I’ve been a fan, but pass that plate of crow.
JD is THE best player in CFB.

Daniels has pretty much admitted that he was hesitant with his reads and tucked and ran too quick last year. The criticism was warranted. I’m just glad the light went on this year.
It was t the criticism that was ever the issue. It was those who kept saying “Nuss is a better QB” or “Nuss is the better option but BK only plays certain players” even though they had zero evidence to back those claims up. They had already decided Nuss was everything Joe Burrow was and then some but had NOTHING to base that conclusion off of. The simple fact is, JD has always been the better option for this team. Nuss may turn out to be a good QB, time will tell, but as of now and last year, JD was the better of the two and BK knew exactly what he was doing. This fact angers several posters here.

He has always had the talent. Credit to him for putting in the work to up his game. LSU has clearly benefitted from that and so will his bank account next year.

Daniels needed to improve in several facets of his game to get where he is now.
Daniels himself said it. LSU coaches said it. NFL scouts said it. Fans said it.
The fact that he DID improve doesn’t mean people were originally wrong.
Some of his saw his poise, leadership, and heart and said he was on the verge of being an elite QB. An all-time great? I don't think any of us were going that far but wanting to bench him in favor of an unknown in Nuss looks only slighter dumber today than it did a year ago.

I’m sure everyone thought Burrow was the best QB in LSU history back in 2018.
Like Daniels last year, 2018 Burrow showed the intangibles of a great QB even when his stats were upper mid-tier.

I've been a Daniels fan since the first Fla State game, when he drove us 99 yds in a minute for a chance to tie.
This is the part that has always killed me with the complaints:
He transferred here pretty late, was completely new to the system, and didn't know any of our skill players. I would guess that he EXPECTED to ride Boutte, since we all thought he was going to be an All American WR (and by all, I mean the national media too). Instead, Boutte cratered.
Going into this year, Daniels:
had the benefit of playing in the system a year
knew his WRs, particularly Nabers and Thomas Jr
had an established offensive line returning
That isn't something "an experienced QB" doesn't benefit from, we see it all the time. Guys do it in college, they do it in the NFL.
What Daniels did last year is similar to a rookie coming into the NFL, to be honest. Complete new team, new coaching staff, all new targets and scheme, facing different defenses (quite likely better) than he had faced. He was successful enough to lead the team to the SEC West title and a win against Saban's Bama, which is no small feat. I fail to see how anyone would expect that he'd have no improvement the following year, when just about everything would be conducive to him becoming more comfortable as the starter here.

Never doubted him while the morons did nothing but bash JD ! We have some very DUPID fans!

No crow to eat.
Prior to the Bama game, the LSU radio folks ran an interview with Denbrock. He said what all of us morons on the Rant were saying - JD was hesitant, our WRs were catching way too many balls with their backs to the end zone, and he was relying too much on himself.
I never wanted him benched. I wanted him to improve and be a better QB, and I wanted the coaches to get Nuss some meaningful snaps so he'd be ready when called upon. Sadly, our defense prevented that last thing from happening for the most part.

Nah.
He simply started doing the things he needed to do.
-Not hold the ball forever
-Give the playmakers on the team a shot at grabbing the ball
-Use the middle of the field
It was even noted last night that BK commented that last year our WRs caught too many passes with their backs to the end zone.

What would you say is the biggest reason for your doubt?

I posted on here from DAY ONE that Jayden would most likely be the starter at QB.
This came from ZERO football knowledge or recognition of talent on my part.
It was simply common sense. I argued on here that there was no way in hell he came here to finish his last 1-2 years without being given a reasonable assurance by the coaching staff that he would start. There are PLENTY of schools below LSU where he would have been given that "guarantee".
It amazes me how few people can read between the lines in everyday life situations. It's almost a childlike mentality on their part.
The "he waited his turn" mentality is absolute BS. The best player plays, period. If BK can find a better option in the portal, he'll sign him, and keep Nussmeir's arse right on the pine. I don't expect this to happen, but it's a possibility.
