One day you dorks on Tigerdroppings will figure out that not every former athlete makes a good coach.
They have to talk like us too.

His first two seasons were very consistent. He’s a bust.

And he's been better than Crews this season and last. So what's your point?
That’s quite the stretch.

Young steals twice as many bases too
No way! A guy with twice as many PAs has stolen twice as many bases?
Crews has a better OPS, walk rate, and a better stolen base percentage.

Yep and it took Smith quite a while to figure it out. I have no doubt crews can do the same thing.

This is ridiculous to call him a bust already. He has already had streaks where he hit the ball well. He has plenty of time to figure it out fully. He's still an elite defender and has plenty of bat potential. No way a guy that gifted is going to stay like this forever.

I don’t watch the Astros and it’s not a take. It’s literally stats.
You’re the one throwing out stolen bases when the reality is Crews is actually better at it when given the opportunity.

Maybe he needs to get out of that trash organization. So thankful they skipped on Kade

There's a lot more to baseball than batting average and home runs.

Very surprising, but baseball is hard. Slumps get in your head and can be hard to get past.
He’s not in a slump lol

They rushed him up. Look at the stats. The dude hit about .250 in AA & AAA combined with an ops well under .800. That’s terrible

but baseball is hard.
I go to AA games all the time and sit right behind the dish. There is a dramatic difference between collegiate and minor league pitching. Throw the wood bat in there and it gets even harder. Lots of very good college hitters every year end up having to just get a regular job. Professional pitching is an entirely different animal.

I pull for all LSU players once they go pro but with that said I don’t give a shite about pro sports. He was a goat in college. That’s all I care about

The amount of absolutism going on in this thread for a dude that hasn't played 2 full seasons in The Show is quite funny.

Agreed....LSU fans have a perception of baseball here and it is authentic an genuine, but we see this unlike most any other college baseball fan base. College baseball at the highest level is high A minor league, or maybe Friday night SEC top 3 MAYBE AA.
As LSU fans we struggle to accept this because this is the Mecca of college baseball but it's the reality.

He’s already 24. Your trajectory as a player is pretty well set by that age for most players. Nowadays there’s very few late bloomers. Especially given how many games they’ve played counting college, travel ball, minor leagues.
Most top 5 picked college position players immediately produce if they are going to end up good. And if they don’t, they never will,
Look at Henry Davis. Biggest bust of all time. You think the Pirates think he will suddenly learn how to hit?
It happens

What a load of crapola.
The average age of a Major League Baseball (MLB) debut is approximately 25.0 to 25.2 years old. While elite prospects may debut earlier, the most common debut age range is 22 to 27, with 25 being the most frequent age for new players in recent seasons.
Recent Trends: Despite a focus on young talent, the average debut age has remained around 25 in recent years.
Historical Perspective: While some players debut as teenagers, this has become rarer over time.
Minor League Progression: Most players progress through levels, with Triple-A (the highest level) having an average age around 26.5.

And while I understand that, if you look at Wood’s numbers in the last month of the season + start of this year they aren’t very good.
Wood started off hot last year but pitchers have started to adjust to his aggression
