It's not just the drops tho. You could probably count on 2 hands how many "clean" catches he had this year. By clean I mean no bobble, no juggling or losing control just straight up sticking the ball. Idk what his deal is, but every catch was a struggle for him, and a NFL QB has 2x the arm stregth as Etling so those catches will be twice as hard to pull off.

Good luck MD! Wish prior to this year you had someone who could have gotten you the ball.

He should have stayed, he isn't ready for the big league. Best of luck to him though, hopefully he makes us proud.

might have had something to do with the QB play and coaching. He's going to do fine. Another year here wasnt going to get him better. He needs to be in a real offense

He alligator-arms a lot of balls and cant deal with physicality.

Getting better coaching won't fix that.

Not surprised. That one handed catch sealed the deal for him I think. Hope he does well. Another Tiger in the NFL is OK by me.

Won't skip a beat.

Wish him the best, but not quite the career I expected out of the #1 receiver in the country out of high school.
He didn't receive very good position coaching; nobody to teach the finer aspects of route running, blocking and catching a football............

we got to watch him have one great game. I was looking forward to seeing him next year, but that's the way it goes. I thought he could've improved his draft stock tremendously coming back.

but we don't know where these kids are at. I know what it's like to be poor. sometimes you just can't take it anymore. a million this year sounds like a whole lot more than 3 million the year after.

You may be right, but I hope we dont need that reason / excuse anymore. New coaching staff breathes new life into a stagnated program...

Louisville game gave him solid momentum and he needs to strike while the iron is hot.

I don't think that one game heats the iron that much. IMO, he would have benefited from coming back.

Yes i figured when he balled out in the bowl game against Louisville, he was going to the NFL.

4th rounder at best

He'll be fine. He has natural ability and showed flashes of his potential. Will he be Randy Moss? No. But I'm confident in saying Malachi has potential to make the Pro Bowl multiple times. I truly believe that.

What, stayed forever? A year isn't going to make someone who isn't physical enough for the NFL any real difference.

Eh. I say either you have that toughness in you or you don't.

He had an awesome game against Louisville. I was there and it was a blast. I think he needed one more year, but I wish him luck like all of the LSU players
