Always hurt and his knees can only take so much so it’s understandable, but play in the fricking bowl game! One last hoorah with your brothers on the field that need this win!

He won’t be drafted
Yeah. He’s getting some bad advice from somebody.

They need to put Shelvin on a liquid iv immediately. So he can play more than 3 downs at a time

Yes, that’s an understatement.
One never knows everything a player is going thru, but it it is hard to see this as a good decision for Ed. I wish him the best, but his decision concerns me.

what a joke man. not looking forward to watching this second string defense in the bowl game
I am. Gives us a look at next year's team.

Our defense is literally depleted lol
Also depth issues on the d line and db’s we better hope nobody else gets injured.

These guys are taking advice from the wrong people. Can't blame D. White and G. Williams but this guy is making a big mistake.

So why not, I don’t know, at least get your degree while it’s free so you have something to fall back on?
It’ll be free when he comes back to finish his degree.
And unless he’s majoring in some kind of engineering degree, I doubt it will matter if he graduated for his post playing career

This is a remarkably bad decision by this young man. What clown gives advice like this to a guy that started 4 games?

What your solution to makes these kids come back? Everyone said it was a les problem but it’s clearly not just a les problem.
This wasn’t a Les problem, and as a marked O critic, it isn’t an O problem either.
Look, we’ve all heard for decades about how Louisiana turns out more pro talent per capita than any other state.
These kids have grown up hearing the same thing. To a degree, all of these high school studs that get offers to LA think they’re going pro. Period.
It’s bred into our culture and it’s a part of their identity as LA HS football players.
Not all of them will make it obviously, but every one of them thinks they will. It’s part of their competitive nature and makes them the players they are.
Many also come from abject poverty and are willing to forego getting a degree they don’t understand the value of for a shot at NFL money, which is a much easier concept for them to understand, to take care of themselves and their families and yes the fame that comes along with it.
I’ve NEVER criticized or questioned a player leaving early. It’s a silly exercise by nerd fans that will never have to make that type of decision at any point in their lives, much less as a 20 something college kid.
No matter what happens, they can ALWAYS come back and finish the degree they started. Some won’t, but those probably wouldn’t have finished their degree had they stayed four years anyway.
Most players are who they are by the time they are eligible, and whether or not they get drafted will depend on how they test, and even if they get drafted in the second or third round the biggest question is can they make the roster.
Again, their ability to do that won’t be changed or improved just by another year of college coaching or experience. It will depend on on their skill, which having four instead of three years under the same coaching won’t change, and primarily their work ethic and dedication in the gym and practice field and staying focused and not getting distracted by the noise that pro athletes face.

I've heard of schools honoring the scholarship even when they come back, but wasn't sure about LSU.

I understand Greedy and would Understand Devin if he did it.
But this one makes no sense. He’s not a day one draft guy and could probably really help himself with another year.

Meanwhile Bama and Clemson get top rated D-linemen to return for their senior years. This is not a smart decision by Alexander.

Only Isaiah Biggs was Draft elligable last year and he was not a top DL.

He is easy to find. Why don't you go say that to his face tough guy?

Bad decision on his part. Dupree all over again. We really needs people advising these guys.
