This isn't 1958. Unless you are winning conference championships or national championships it wouldn't be wise to laugh at your AD. LSU fired the most successful football coach in it's history just a few years ago. There may be a few coaches in the country that can still do that and Ed O ain't one of them.

Dietzel has a claim to being LSU's most successful coach. His '58 team was #1, and his '61 team was tied for #1. And the LSU program was struggling when he took over.
And an AD is an intermediary between the HC and the administration and, of course, the major donors. And it was the major donors that shitcanned Miles for failing to develop an elite passing offense (like he promised and promised).
There's a reason HC's make millions more than AD's. HCs run the football programs. Not ADs. HC's know their job - win or hit the road. It ain't complicated. And they don't need inspirational talks from pencil pushers.

Not so sure. Eaux is busy cruitin, just got two commits last weekend. The 7th best player out of California and the 20th OLB in the nation out of Texas.
He got a little annoyed with Woodward yesterday because he was following him around all day like a little puppy-dog trying to get Eauxs Momma's duck recipes.
Aint nobody got time for that - especially Eaux.

Wtf? LSU went 9-3 in 2015. And had 3 straight top 5 classes.
Ed went 10-3 in 2018. It would be 9-3 if say the rice game was cancelled. And he hasn't recruitued 3 straight top 5 classes. On paper, Ed inherited a more talented team than Saban and Miles.

Orgeron is happy with Woodward because he knows that Scott is an educated professional who will not base his hiring or firing on the first Saturday in November (Unlike the Rantards).

I know I never said that, because as a WR I (and many WRs I Knew) preferred some wobble because it was easier to see the wobbling white rings on the ball under the lights.

Can't count the times on the Rant that a few posters have claimed that Dwayne Haskins has a stronger arm than Joe Burrow. He doesn't. Haskins fires full velocity on almost every pass. Burrow throws with touch (takes more skill, BTW)
There's a yearly long-throw competition at OSU's Spring Game half-time Haskins never beat Burrow in the long throw competition. The long throw is a fan favorite. People even bet on it. Close to 100,000 fans show up for Spring game.
In the 2017 long throw, Haskins came in 4th. Cardale Jones was 1st (former players can compete) ; Darrin Lee was 2nd (high school QB - LB in college and NFL); Burrow was 3rd; and, again, Haskins was 4th. JT Barrett was 5th.
Burrow beat Haskins in 2016 too. (In 2017, the halftime competition was rained out)

To be honest, everyone should be nervous, right?
New guy in the building. Different approach and strategy to how the position should function. Obviously the teams that have been underperforming should be nervous, but its a new day, so new expectations.
