The coaches that win should feel pretty good, but what about the ones struggling? You think they have a feeling their head is on the chopping block? Curious what coaches get the boot, I mean Scott is a winner so I imagine he tells the coaches to put up or shut up. Who is out the door?

Fargas is, as mentioned above, probably nervous. There’s no reason for her to be employed after she neutered our women’s basketball program.

Coach O is coming off a good season, but this new guy isn’t tied to him like Alleva was. It’ll be interesting to see that dynamic.

Will Wade and Woody should get along just fine.

Those are my predictions thus far

i think most (maybe all) will be a lil more nervous an uptight while feeling out the new guy.

mainly because when one boss is forced out, new guy is typically expected to make changes.

doesn’t mean any of them are necessarily in danger.
just that they are now being viewed under a different microscope than they were before.

Orgeron should be happy that he has competent leadership after coming off of a decent year but maybe slightly nervous that his leash could be shorter.

Wade is ecstatic that his infrastructure requests will actually be taken serious while being slightly nervous about a possible NCAA investigation.

Manieri is probably more comfortable than anyone. He has the tenure, the success and the allies (Skip, one of Woodwards biggest mentors) to insure that, barring missing the postseason completely for 2 years in a row, he will retire a tiger.

AD's aren't "leaders". They're rain-makers. They get the money needed, negotiate contracts, then they get the hell out of the way.

O says Woody has a Camp at Port Fourchon and he does as well and everyone knows everyone. All the Coonasses down on the Bayou are happy. O says Woody how many games do I have to win? No problem I got your back! I got the Beer and food at the Camps!

You’re an idiot.

They facilitate the building of much needed resources.

They approve staff additions.

They craft the fan experience.

They approve new equipment and technology.

The quell the emotions when big money boosters have knee jerk reactions.

They negotiate conference pay outs and tv deals.

They negotiate on our behalf on inter-conference beefs.

You thought joe was a good AD so the fact that you think the way you do isn’t surprising

You're a simpleton

All the things you list are admin duties - and correct.

But ADs are absolutely not "leaders" to HC's. They cut a contract with the HC, then get the hell out of the way except to procure the facilities and resources the HC needs.

The ADs that try to intrude into day to day football business either don't last long, or screw everything up. And there are a few of those meddling ADs. Gawd help LSU football if Woody is one of those.

You call me simpleton but don’t realize how those things can lead an athletic program to success or to failure.

Yea.... ok

No one is claiming that Woodward is going to be teaching Orgeron the intricacies of the Air Raid or be out there coaching up the WR’s to run a proper slant route.

But if you think facilitating a healthy program isn’t leadership then you’re fricking retarded.

A good CEO is going around showing employees how to use excell but he is still THE leader you fricking numpty

AD's are administrative functionaries and liaisons to the major donors.

If you want to believe Woodward is going to be some kind of inspirational figure to Orgeron & his staff... then please - have at it.

From your link:

quote:

“Joe Alleva has taken to going into the office every Sunday and watching film with Ed,” said Landry “And that’s been widely, popularly received by the assistant coaches there…Most athletic directors would never do this because they’re not football people.”

I wonder how long that lasted. And Alleva actually played the game at QB and team captain at a small college.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting any AD is the on field leader of any particular sports team.

But good AD’s set the tone and expectations of all programs, provide resources necessary for success and have the power to hire and fire.

Further while no one suggests O or any coach is in jeopardy with Woodward as AD. Does anyone anywhere believe that if Woodward was AD when Les was let go that Orgeron would have even been considered?

Every AD knows in his soul that ultimately he will be judged on how successful the football program is.

Woodward gets it. And he will ensure LSU has leadership in the football program capable of winning championships.

If our current leadership can do it GREAT if not? Well, I trust Woodward.
