Have hated it with a passion for years, but so awful that it’ll cost us a year of one of our best pitchers of the decade. Would be better for college baseball as a whole to make it 3 years for everyone.

I have no problem with it. On the list of problems with college athletics this is way down the list

I want the best players in college baseball. I care about college sports as an institution, which is why I’m against all of this “player empowerment” nonsense like NIL, revenue sharing, and instant transfers.

Some of those guys wouldn't ever be here in the first place if they couldn't get drafted as sophomores. Curiel for example would've gone pro

With the new NIL/portal rules it doesn’t matter as much. We don’t go get eyanson if herring comes back.

But he left, so we get another elite starter. Can only afford so much talent now.

Baseball has the best draft setup of the big 3. Imagine some of the Les Miles teams if players were allowed to come back after getting drafted lower than they expected.

The crazy thing is Kade still wants to come back

He told me yesterday how he wishes the rule didn’t exist so he didn’t have to leave

One of the all-time greats

So you wanted Crews to have to come back?

Of course. I want every guy to play 4 years ideally. College sports fans should want this.

But if players were forced to stay 4 years they would never come to college. And you still wouldn’t have “the best players in college”

Other than Kade, not sure if any of our other sophomores are eligible. I know after next season, Curiel and Rizy are.

Stop being selfish. The guy is too good to have his career risked playing another year for baseball at LSU when he can make millions. Let him make the decision to decide for himself if he wants another year at LSU or the big leagues. Why take the choice away from them?

The only reason some of these guys make it to campus is that rule. Take what you can get.

He does not have to leave. He can actually stay for two more years.
