However, we’re not even sure that it’s for weed. It could be for something completely different.

This is true. Back in the day, you tap the wrong coach's daughter and you might as well be a serial killer with a meth lab in her dorm room.

Care to share context on what the heck this quote is?

So if kid does everything right in the upcoming months, what is your best guess at when he would be allowed back on the team?

Not stupid at all. He’s being suspended for lack of discipline, not for smoking weed. The weed is the subject of the lack of discipline. Lack of discipline is why we see so many millennials out of touch with reality and also why the NFL is becoming a clown show. When you try and justify breaking rules because of your personal beliefs, you’ve set yourself and your team up for failure.

Oh well that’s just great. LSU ought to prohibit eating tomatoes too. It’s not the tomatoes, it’s the discipline!

Or on SOMEBODY's kazoo. You must be sensitive to our millennials' feelings.

I agree, but Louisiana will be among the last states to do it. Major lobbies for both parties are profiting too much from the status quo to allow any changes to happen.

They would profit triple that off taxes by legalizing it like most states are getting hip to now...status quo only allows for you to profit off the people you write citations to or take to jail, where as if it was legal they would be profiting millions of dollars off lots of people, many they had no idea used in the first place bc people could do what they do without fear of being taken to jail

Again, highlights the complete lack of a level playing field from one school to the next on marijuana use, even just within the SEC. And don’t think other schools don’t use that in recruiting.

You may be right but why is this one coming from a university press release and the others were never acknowledged?

Someone posted just a couple days ago that Starks was going down a bad path and he hoped he got his life together.

Click link, bout 10th post down! That was me baw, unfortunately I’ve been seeing him spiral down that road for a couple months. In fact I don’t think he traveled with the team from the SEC championship all the way to the Natty.

Let me be clear, IF this is for weed, I think it’s fricking stupid how stringent our compliance office is regarding how it handles weed.

Other schools negative recruit lsu on this issue FYI

I don’t know if this was weed but suspending a player for weed is so LSU. While a Bama player arrested on a felony gun charge just runs bleachers after practice.

Nah man. The ONLY reason LSU ever suspends or otherwise disciplines ANY ATHLETE is just for smoking a little pot.

I’ve read it on here a bunch, so it must be true.

Why is our compliance Department such hard asses for weed violations. Unlike Bama and pretty much any other school in the conference. Why are we even doing this? Also be known for this cannot be good for recruiting.

Because weed and other substance violations are against written University policy. PDF of LSU Policy

Since LSU and the Athletic Department and not the compliance department determine said policy, the compliance department has its hands tied and is responsible for following LSU's written policy per NCAA rule mandate.

Please note that I am not defending the compliance department, but their hands are tied in the matter of failed LSU and/or NCAA administered drug tests.

Now whether a change in LSU's written policy can come from the Athletic Dept. or needs to come from higher up in the Administration (Board of Supervisors) is the question.
