Don't sleep on Colin Hurley

Remember, Colin reclassed from this year's class and committed last year, 2024. Colin early enrolled at LSU last January at age 16. Colin turns 17 this January. Before he reclassed from the 2025 class to the 2024 class Colin was a solid 5 star. He has a solid high school tape at ages 14 and 15.

2 years in some cases, 3 years ahead of most players. Lot of years to physically and mentally be behind.

I know he has a live arm, but has he grown any? I don't if he was even 5'-10" coming into LSU?

???? This may take a couple of years. Competes as a RS Soph? Or does somebody just come in and jump over him??
Tons of “ upside” and “potential”

He was listed at 6 feet by the recruiting services before committing to LSU last year. LSU has him listed at 6' 1" now. He's not even 17 yet so he still has time to grow. Some guys grow an inch are so between the ages of 17-19.
With that said Colin has a very strong lower body for a QB. He's pretty thick.

I have not given up on him.
I have just been waiting…..

Well, you are a recruiting board regular. You are that 10% of fans that know before the rest of the 90%.

Colin turns 17 this January.
He turned 17 way earlier this year. He's about to be 18 in a few months.
Article from Dec last year
quote:
Hurley said that he'll be enrolling early at LSU in January, meaning he'll be only 16 years old when he steps foot on the Tigers' campus as a student-athlete for the first time.
He'll turn 17 just a few months later, 1010XL's Matt Hayes, also of Saturday Down South, said in a tweet.

From your link:
So he early enrolled at LSU last January when he was 16.
His LSU Bio says the same thing:
LINK
That was last January. He was 16.
One year later, this January he will be 17. Because 1 plus 16 equals 17.

The next starting LSU QB is not on this year's roster. Hurley's only shot is if he sticks around 2 more years, which is unlikely.

It doesn’t make much sense to have taken him that young honestly but let’s hope it works out

Don't sleep on him or Ricky Collins, either but Collins has the real upside.

You’re missing the point. He’s not saying you’re wrong about Hurley being 16 when he enrolled. He’s saying you were wrong about Hurley turning 17 in January.
“He will be 17 in January” does not equal “he will turn 17 in January,” which is what you said in your OP.

Thanks for posting this. Good to remind folks that it's not all doom and gloom in the QB room.

Wake me up when he does something...

I just want someone who will get the easy 5 yard run for a first down instead of throwing a 45 yard pass on 3rd and 5.

I think he is a better passer than Dak. Dak was not a sought after QB coming out of HS with only 1 P5 offer to play QB. Collins was a 4 star with multiple P5 offers. But they are comparable size.

I don't expect anything out of him next year. If Nuss returns I think he has a chance of being solid in 26 and 27
