If I had a vote I would pick 18 for Josh Williams and 7 for Jayden Daniels.
Also going forward I would be highly selective in handing these numbers out. There could be a year where no one gets 7 before the season but could earn it during the season, especially 7. I don’t think it should automatically go to the best DB or Skill player. 18 is sort of easier to define. No matter the year team leaders always step up and separate themselves from

Would be nice to see a QB wearing 18 again. That’s where it started and it’s always nice when the true team leader is playing the most important position. Daniels seems to have the aptitude for it.

As a long time fan it’s not a big deal.
But I’m not on the team. If it’s a big deal for the coaches and more important the players then I’m all for it. Let them do what they need to do to build up morale and to reinforce leadership.
