Well 1. That is stupid. And 2. never going to be able to keep that quiet with the way kids are wanting to post everything on social media.

LSU doesn’t report them, in fact they can’t. The players announce it and the media picks up on it.

I think NCAA needs to change the term from "committed" to something like "interested" or "interest level 1-10".

I think LSU should also not report final scores in football games.

Once they commit that’s when the offers go up

So tired of the decommitments over the past 15 to 20 years of these types of players
How tired of you are you of the multiple players that flipped to us after being committed elsewhere?

Right, it’s a media thing and has nothing to do with the NCAA.

Just stop using the word commitment since it apparently isn't that.

I'd rather a coach have the marbles to tell a kid..... the moment you commit, all other visits to other schools are off the table.
While I agree, hasn't that been Dabo's mantra forever? How's that working out for him?
I'd rather see a situation where NIL money gets put into escrow and is only paid out when the player meets certain requirements: staying for the entire year, participating the entire year (including off-season), maybe even have some kind of performance-based metrics that have to be met.
If we're going to treat kids like employees, then dammit treat them like EMPLOYEES instead of backing up a Brinks truck and hope they keep their word after they get the cash.

I don’t pay any attention to commits anymore. It’s become impossible to take it seriously.

Welcome to the wild wild west. Gonna be rough sledding for a while until some entity gets this thing back in the fences. Maybe things get better with April ruling.
Until then, eighteen year old kids will take the money and run. Just like you would've.

Or make the official commitment a binding contract between the school and kid. Neither can back out.

Colleges don't report commitments to the public. The players do.
