I find it baffling that so many people dislike that combo. The Tigers wore that last year for Louisiana Tech and I was just amazed at how those colors pop out under the stadium lights!

Too garish for my taste...looks high school-ish, and I was at LSU in the 80's when we wore those awful things at home. Our Gold/white/gold is hard to beat, but the All white alternate and white/purple/white alternates are pretty darn sweet as well.

I agree with you. Our uniforms are unique and classy. Not like the crappy substitute uniforms last Saturday night.

News Flash: the uniforms last night look better than that awful purple jersey gold helmet/pants look. It isn’t even remotely close.

I agree 100%. It's always better to have one primary color matched with a neutral color than to have two primary colors getting equal billing and, as a result, clashing. That's a basic rule of design and is the reason that our traditional uniforms look so good: gold is the primary color and doesn't have to compete with purple. The same principle should apply whenever we might want to wear gold jerseys: they should be matched with white pants and white helmets. And, please, NEVER a solid color uniform (all gold or all purple).

I would like to see the purple jerseys, gold helmet and pants at least once a year.

LSU didn’t do a one off wearing an all black or tiger striped uniform. We wore the same colors we’ve worn for a very long time. Our trademark is the brand and we stayed within the brand. We aren’t Alabama. It’s okay to mix it up with some games. At the end of the day, we’ll wear the same canary gold helmet, pants and white jersey when we play conference games......RELAX.

Also, watch out for a one off uniform in the next year with Nike introducing a new uniform template like we’ve done in years past against State or Auburn.

the white on white is the best looking uniform in all of college football imo. But I would never want it to be permament bc of tradition.

The all white pro combat ones we wore vs Auburn in 2011 were awesome. I really liked those.

Something about the purple jerseys and white helmets make me uneasy. We struggled vs Tulane in 2007 with that same combo. Maybe it's just being superstitious.

But those all white ones were pretty sweet. The old gold with the numbers on the side of the helmet we had last year were nice too.

I think they do it for the players.
I don't mind a purple jersey game but those white pants and white helmets suck goat nads.

I’m not a fan of Bama so I don’t care. I liked the uniform changes. You know who else likes them? The players and the recruits and their opinion means a hell of a lot more than yours.

Not having alt unis doesn’t seem to impact ‘Bama recruiting

At all.

In fact, if alt unis are the difference maker between a top 10 class and the no 1 class every year, then we should probably folllow the ‘Bama model of no alt unis.

And the fact that LSU wears these clown costumes only for weak out of conference games tells the players that “this opponent isn’t a *real* opponent.

And you get results like LSU got in the first half.
