I think it has more to do with age than anything else.
Would like someone that could be here for 10-15 years like Skip and Paul.

Ok, but know people NEVER change their mind. Idiotic statement. If that guy says he wants to coach hear, you sign him right now. He may want warmer weather and great university support. Pat Casey retired, is still currently retired. Do not want. I don't think he'll just come back and POOF we win nattys. On top of that, how long would the man potentially be here before he retires again? I doubt it's long so then we start over. Get this hire right and don't pick some filler hire.

I made a post on the OT about having a former coworker/friend go through a similar situation. He was a teacher and coach, a doting father of 3 kids (at the time), and was suddenly relieved of his duties when a student accused him of touching her. I knew him very well. He was not the type of guy to make perverse remarks about underage girls, he took his job seriously. His wife stayed with him. I asked her in private about it, and she said she had some intense talks with him. If she thought he was lying, she would have left. His attorney suggested to him that he take a plea deal that would land him a max of 6 months in county, with a possibility of early release and the ability to work during the day. He has already been relocated to a detention facility. He was deeply religious and continues to practice with fellow inmates.
His attorney said that if he fought the charge, he would face 2-20 years. At the time of his arrest, he was living in a relatively liberal suburb here in Texas, and his counsel suggested that would hurt his chances of getting off the hook. The accuser’s mom is a local activist for the #metoo movement, and rumor is her daughter was kicked out of her previous school for multiple false accusations against teachers. Presented with 6 months max, or a possible 2-20, he took his attorney’s advice.
Tldr; not saying Heimlich is innocent, but I have newfound perspective and wouldn’t be quick to assume guilt.

He has 5 kids now. The choice was to try and save up and ‘get through’ six months on limited family income, or risk having his wife and kids end up on government assistance and seeing their dad in visitation for multiple years.
It’s easy for a guy on a message board to spew out lines about his guilt, but quite frankly...I believe him.

This happens WAY more than most people realize. I’m not saying the Heimlich girl that was/is lying but I personally know 2 men that were accused of inappropriate things by a young child. It was later PROVEN TO BE FALSE & only then did the so called “Victims” confess that they had indeed lied! HOWEVER the Damage to these men’s lives & reps had already been inflicted.

LSU doesn’t change the billboard in right unless you win championships. They don’t care about just getting to Omaha. I think Sully would be a great hire but he has a very similar resume to the coach that everyone wanted fired before he decided to retire with more talent in his time at Florida than CPM has had at LSU.

We as fans unless major boosters have very very little to say about who is hired thus none of this matters. Still fun to talk about.
