re: Does The Blatant Corruption of the SEC Officials Insult You As A Fan?

The funny thing about it is that nobody in the national media will acknowledge there were even questionable calls in the game last night.
But after the lsu South Carolina game last year we didn’t hear the end of “south Carolina got screwed”.

The playoffs have accelerated the corruption. The only way to cull some of this is to have a static number of teams from each conference make it. For example if the SEC can get only 4 but always 4 in, the refs may not cheat quite as much in non Alabama games

I actually don’t think it’s Bama bias anymore as crazy as that is to say.
I think ESPN knows their top SEC teams need to make the playoffs for revenue and ratings so they tip the scales in big games to prevent upsets. Look at the whole Kirby fiasco and calling the timeout… that was atrocious.
I’m with the other posters that it’s time for teams to start sending a walk on or “goon” to go take out a QBs knee or decleat a ref after this shite happens. It’s too obvious, and it’s insulting to fans because we like to have the illusion of fairness.

Perhaps another topic for discussion but when you consider the number of penalties called against LSU and Bama and the number of "reviews" along with the spread, which was 10-10.5, and Bama wins by 11 it makes you wonder..

Didn't I see the spread was 10.5? If so, just amazing.
I said last night in a post that screw calling the SEC. Call the FBI. The 3rd/4th qtr run of replays and no replays smelled of point manipulation on the spread. Include Matt Austin on that because he would make an opinion call and the field ref repeated verbatim 2-3 times.

Yep. That's the way it needs to be.

The BK era set the example of being passive! JD5 gets cheap shot concussion targeting etc vs Bama! Not one OL or Offense player went after that Bama guy! That should have been knees out, a crack back block, or he’ll just take a 15yarder and hit him after the play like the losers Dickerson did a few years back! Send a message but nope not even a friendly legal chop block!

Slung Zavion 5 yards OOB Van Buren slide (worse than PP int call) The refs waving the chain gang feverishly on the sideline catch that woodland came up with. If anything there wasn't clear position until out of bounds. No review though. But they reviewed three straight offensive plays on LSU culminating in a review of a slide that clearly started after the first down was gained by at least a full yard
What everyone always forgets is the momentum stalls. Even if those reviews had gone our way; it's stopping the tempo of our offense once it gets started.
These are things that never show up in the stat line or box scores.
Watch the game again and tell me how many times an outside force (the refs) stalled the offense's momentum.

Yeh…. I try not to be that guy, but it was bad.
So bad, that the long TD before the half was never shown on replay. Only to be shown during half time. Which showed that the dude bobbled the ball and didn’t make the catch. They showed it once, made a comment and that was it.
Not to mention to overturned LSU grab that got looked at for 35min. Which was a damn catch.

This is exactly what I was pointing out to my wife. Everytime we had some kind of momentum there would be a review or a call that slowed things down.
My wife is an aggy and she was pissed about the non call on the unnecessary roughing out of bounds and the reversal on the slide for a first down. That to me was the worse of all the calls. We finally have a QB that makes a beautiful run for a first down and the refs take it away so blatantly

Refs had their marching orders. LSU was not going to be allowed to win the game. The late hit out of bounds in front of the ref, counting defensive players then throwing a false start, missed face mask, multiple holding every play, stoppage and review of 3 plays in a row to make sure they killed the drive. It’s usually bad but was egregious. Kills the little bit of fan hood I have left.

So the SEC is corrupt and LSU is the chosen victim? Why is that?

i just posted on the SEC board how the officials always favor the good teams that are apparently heading to the playoffs. the bad teams, who would probably lose anyway, aren't given a chance to win. See it all the time.
They gotta protect their product. They want as many teams in the playoff as possible. If everyone beats up everyone and ends up with a bunch of 2-3 loss teams, we only get 1.
And if I'm interm coach, not being interviewed for a permanent spot, and a good chance a new coach will want a new staff... I tell the media this exact same. Every game and every year the SEC officials protect the teams with highest chances of playoffs. And tell the media that the first person who uncovers the point shaving and betting going on behind the scenes in Birmingham, you get a portion of my signing bonus.

It has been clear for years that the SEC protects teams with the best shot at a championship.
Usually that has included Alabama. If we're honest, a few times LSU was protected during our championship runs, but never to this level.
I'm not saying the refs cost us the game. But it is blatantly obvious that we had a chance for a huge upset and we were put under the microscope while everything Bama did was ignored.

The Patrick Peterson no call was sufficiently obvious it was easy to see, during and then after the game on replay.
Bama was the better team last night and didn't need their usual, subtle home cooking help.
Nonetheless, it was the most obvious and consistent bias I've seen this century of Bama / LSU games.
