Costello had me just sitting there laughing. I couldn’t even be mad. Guy is a baller under an offense that allowed him to attempt 60 passes. I feel like MSU is entering a new era and they will be a force to be reckoned with (yes I may be getting ahead of myself after one game). To answer your question, the Troy game was a total blindside so that one hurt a lot worse. I knew this would definitely be a rebuild year and the changes at MSU were definitely on my mind. I saw this coming a lot more than Troy loss.

Hell no! Right now I feel like we have a championship program that is stalled at the moment because of 24 guys leaving the team. We will have to rebuild this year, but after that we should be reloading from here on.

Last Saturday sucked but wasn’t that bad. You lost to an innovative play caller, experienced and talented QB

Play calling was not the issue, losing our talented QB however is and seeing LSU regressing backwards at the QB position is somewhat depressing.

The loss was bad and from the beginning of the game LSU never once looked like the better team.

I can agree with this statement. It’s almost like this season is full of pre-season games for next year.

No way in hell. We just won a National championship. You must be a miserable person to not be able to enjoy that past your teams first loss. I don’t care if they lose tomorrow... nothing can tarnish the shine of last year. You have to remember this is not the same team as last year. Adjust your expectations and enjoy life.

Not even remotely close to the loss to Troy. MSU is a real SEC football team. They do occasionally beat us. Troy should NEVER beat us.

This State loss is way overblown as far as embarrassment. Mike Leach does not give 2 fcks about a defense and his QB does not either. If you keep throwing it up you're bound to catch some and score. They risked it and it worked.

He knows what he's doing. They may not beat the other top tier programs, but I'm won't put anything past them "upsetting" other teams this year.

we can bask in the glory of last year AND still expect a successful season in 2020. Those aren't mutually exclusive.

You think Bama, Clemson, OSU fans would be singing a happy tune if this happened to them? Of course not, because they expect greatness.

Can you win championships every year? Of course not. But you shouldn't accept the poor performance we saw last week, on both sides of the ball by simply falling back on your memory of our exceptional 2019 team.

With this years Pandemic and the not knowing whether we were going to have a season or not, had me to deprogram college football. Normally a loss gets to me so bad, that it stays with me a week or so. This loss was so pitiful that I did not take it too bad because of the deprogramming a bit and the fact that we have a very inexperienced team after most starters were gone. Brennan was a big disappointment with his pocket presence as well as the defensive backs. Also not making half time adjustment on the defensive side was really disappointing. But, I am looking forward to getting back in the win column, which is what this team desperately needs right now.

Not to me.

This is the way I took the Miss State game: it's been a weird year, everything is out of kilter.
We have more talent than State, the only thing that would make the game close for them is them being more prepared, and us being sloppy.

We didn't play "BAD", we played like we were totally unprepared. The offense looked like a work in progress with some potential, that they need to figure out what works.
The defense on the other hand, looked clueless. It looked like they just put 11 guys out there and said "ok, play ball", and that was the extent of the coaching. I think 11 of us posters could have gone out there, and maybe have played better. Probably have held them under 600 yds passing, because after about 5 minutes we'd have decided to go to "backyard zone", instead of man coverage.

I don't know the thought process behind that. Were the coaches idiots, or were they deciding to get the growing pains out of the way in a fricked-up year? Who knows.

But it just felt like they didn't care about the outcome, they wanted to get the reps in. And if we got scorched, so be it, but we're going to stay in man until people figure out what to do.

There was nothing productive about the Troy game, other than to get the team's focus (which WAS huge). I don't know what comes out of this, other than the defense has learned that they need to get up to speed. In the long run, does this help the defense going forward?
I think we're playing for 2021, not 2020.
