Dude. Seriously? Every NFL player has genetics on their favor.
Well, yea. But i wasn't talking about the NFL. I'm talking about the fact that he can damn near throw a ball 100 yards and that he is the size of a DE playing QB....at LSU.
His genetics helped him develop. He obviously isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Did Bobby Bowden develop talent?
A lot of people don't understand the role of a head coach.... or a president
Everything is not up to their specific ability to a certain rhealm of circumstance....
It's about managing people, setting standards, and payign attention to what others are informing about... the program, the country....
Very few coaches are as hand's on as Nick Saban.... although I have heard Miles spends some time on the o-line....
There is a reason 85% of the college programs hire a guy to specifically develop QBs... the head coach doesn't do it all...
One poster got it right, Moffitt and staff, Chavis and staff, Krag-Studrawa are all there to develop the players in the program..
Miles does not develop talent.. HIS program develops talent.... that is sure...
Mo Claiborne is the classic example of LSU developing talent....
---- Also, it is attitude, and personal development.... Many recruits have the athleticism to be NFL players, but if they do not mature and have the proper guidance, their talent, their 6'6 250 lbs is ruined....
I think Miles does well to develop his player personally..... before the last two years, you rarely heard of LSU off the field issues..
Getting a 4 star recruit to play consistently (mture as a player) is the best way to develop talent, as many of you said, taletn is talent after all

Last I checked, Miles wasn't a position coach, so the answer would be "no". Position Coaches teach technique and do the bulk of the "development".

I don't think Miles is much of a hands-on coach tbh. So, I can't really see him developing anyone...
Seems more like a Mack Brown type coach to me who occasionally puts his hand in the offensive schemes...
I highly doubt he has anything to do with defense.

The guy at the top has to get SOME credit! Coach Miles is in charge of a program that sends more than it's fair share to the NFL. Yes, it is a combination of Coach Moffit making guys physcially ready for the NFL, it is Coach Chavis and others teaching them techniques, and Coach Miles oversees all of that.
<This. He is in charge, not a position coach. If you are saying that we have a ton of development on the defensive side then you have to give credit to the guy that is bringing in the coaches to develop it. He had a huge part in getting Chavis and Haley here, that deserves credit. It's too early to tell with the offensive side in terms of QB/WR since Krags and Henry are still relatively early on in their careers at LSU, but he did have a huge part in retaining Frank Wilson, who is not only 'developing' our running backs but our lead recruiter.

His position coaches develop talent
ex. Ron cooper
Ridley, Peterson, Lafell, have stood out this year.
We develop talent pretty well.

He's a tard. As for your LSU friend, there is still many many Miles haters around.

Offensive? Doesn't seem like we've been getting much development there past 4-5 years.
I just don't get it. Outside of QB LSU has been one of the most talented teams in college football. The record reflects it. Shows just how much talent they had to overcome such horrific QB play and LSU has overcame injuries, suspensions, distractions better than anyone. There's your proof.

We do develop QBs.... If you think JL wasn't leagues better in 2011 than 08-10 then you are insane. JJ was loads better as well.
It's not Les' fault he didn't have much to work with
Whose fault is it?

Considering Miles is a former OL, you would think we could have plenty of OL under his "development" in the NFL .......
You may have been spot on the difference between Miles and Saban; both get talent but Saban does a much better job at developing the talent.
Until Miles beats down Saban like that 21 -0 debacle last January and wins another BCSNC, it would appear to be an accurate opinion.

Ask the NFL if CLM develops talent. Quite a few go there after each season. And why wouldn't CLM get some credit for defensive players? He is the head coach, if gets the blame when things go bad, then he gets credit for the good as well.

Tell your florida friend and LSU arse hat that he does indeed develop talent:

so all credit goes to Chevis.
WTF is Chevis? You mean Chevis Jackson?
Chivas Regal blended scotch?
People that cannot even spell a coaches name should be......nevermind.......

Name one offensive recruit under miles that has went in first round. Miles has nothing to do with defense other than hiring Chavis.
