Does Jay care if he wins the game or the tournament for that matter?

Even if this move wins the game, it loses the tournament for you.

Why not just forfeit.

I said three days ago. Throw the best of everything you have to win one game and basically forfet the next game. Get home a set up for regional.
That’s what he is doing.

LOL. SEC does not allow a forfeit just because you do not want to play.

relax...SEC Ty is irrelevant for us.

Because he wants to win at least 1. Not rocket science.

He’s clearly playing to win just one at least. He feels that is all they have to do if even that.

Its not the worst idea. Sets up both your aces to start next week. You've already locked up a national seed.

Youre just publicizing that you could care less about this tourney.

Jay put Eyanson in for high pressure experience possibly.

I dont see a problem with it. He sees value in winning this game at all cost, or at least getting Eyanson some work. If we win we get Evans tomorrow and if we win that depending on Eyanson pitch count, could start the championship game.

This is single elimination. If LSU were to lose tonight with Eyanson sitting in the dugout rested and ready to go, I think there’d be room to criticize JJ. Saving him for a game that won’t happen if you lose makes no sense.

I am admittedly just a casual baseball fan at best but even I can figure this one out. We are pretty much a luck for a national seed. With a win tonight it is a 100% no questions lock that we are a top 8. He is not taking any chances. Making sure we win tonight. If we can win the SEC with the pitchers we have left great, if not, oh well. He, like Mulkey, is only playing for national championships.

He cares about every game. If you listen to him talk enough, he believes in his “every game is a playoff game” schtick. He takes a non-traditional approach to the game and is always thinking multiple steps ahead. His tinkering works more times than it doesn’t, but it won’t work every time because that’s just how baseball is.
