He could use the extra COVID year if he chooses. By eligibility he is a senior.

Really hope he stays. He deserves another shot at the everyday Sunday starter.

Because of Covid, yes. Honestly, he could use the extra year to help his draft stock being that he's just getting back to his old self. But he may not want to risk another injury.

Took me 5 years and 3 months to graduate. By the time I left, I was smh at the freshmen.

Id guess the odds of him coming back are low considering he celebrated senior day yesterday

I get it that winning the game is paramount, but I'm still kind of pissed that they didn't send Hilliard out to face one batter in the 6th and then pull him to give the crowd a chance to thank him for his years here. He's not the best pitcher we've had over his career, but he's always been a guy who got up there when asked. Sometimes it was to chew up innings in relief during a midweek and sometimes it was a weekend start, but he did it for four seasons up or down.

He won't see the mound tomorrow and he deserved a standing ovation for his send-off during what may well be his last game in Alex Box.

Hilliard doesn't project at the next level, so I don't think a fear of getting hurt should really matter. He's not going to get drafted this year, especially with a 20 round draft, so it would boil down to getting play baseball another year or moving on to his life after baseball.
