Given our NIL or lack therof, this is barely a top 20 job.
highest paid coaching staff in the country. Like it or not almost certainly one of the highest paid rosters in the sport. there might be a ceiling limitation compared to Texas and some B1G schools with booster support but the job is good enough to compete for the 12 team playoff pretty easily.

tbf it was said by Tom Loy and other ND insiders he tried this and Swarbrick said no.
Swarbrick himself said they were never given an opportunity to match IIRC.
There has been a lot of revisionism on the Notre Dame side since he left but they were pissed. They were like 11-1 and in the playoff hunt.

Woody's the reason we're in this mess

I've said from the beginning of this season that BK looked checked out. No emotion on the sideline. I think he thought this was going to be a lot easier to win a natl champ here than it actually is. I think he prob would like to retire but his ego and the paycheck won't let him.

Be careful what you wish for...
When NIL and the Portal even had Saban retiring, this should be a warning how the future is going to be very difficult to navigate for most any coach...

He’s way more motivated & hungry than Saban was at his age. You think he’s discouraged by today’s news
What evidence do you have of that?

This board is constantly crying about him yelling at players.

Based on what?
You don’t think Saban could still be making what CBK is making?

I’ve seen reports he’s going to Chicago.

He has a plan but a plan that will never work out. The game has pass by the 60 year old coaches.

No he is just another hard headed Les Myles….just fire me

I believe he will. Not this offseason, but sooner rather than later. Who woudl want to deal with this BS in their 60's???
Yeah but see that's where BK has it all figured out. He doesn't deal with it. He delegates everything to his assistants and spends his afternoons on the golf course while collecting a check. And he will keep doing so until Woodward is forced to pay his buyout.

I honestly think BK is just too old school of a coach to have success in this era of college football.
This comment hits the nail on the head, definitely old school philosophy
He seems to have one foot in the RPO and the other foot holding on to 3 yards and a cloud of dust
I will give Kelly credit in that he seems to beat the teams LSU should be beat

He was making in the $1,000,000’s or 2,000,000’s at ND until he basically went to LSU. Assuming he was spending a reasonable amount of money, which I’m sure he was, he wasn’t accumulating anywhere near generational wealth until literally right now.

No, its pretty true. LSU basically quadrupled his ND salary

Going off USA Today from the link in my post.
$2.67M in 2021
$1.86M in 2020
So if you’re saying otherwise, then either USA Today is wrong or there was some creative setup where most of BK’s money wasn’t paid directly from the school.
I'm afraid everything you wrote about Kelly's total compensation package at Notre Dame was completely incorrect. Except for the second half of your final sentence.
Kelly was paid around $7.5m-$8m per annum by the time he left ND. A portion (much less than half) was paid directly by the school, and is a matter of public record, as per your USA Today link. But Notre Dame is a private school that does not have to disclose all the relevant information around this issue.
Much of the rest of his compensation package was paid via Under Armor as fas as I'm aware. But he was certainly paid a lot more than $2m. And his successor is on around $7m p.a. at the moment. For context, ND's two coordinators are currently on around $2.25m p.a. each.

He’s 10 years younger and making 10m a year. He’d be stupid to give that up

If you really believe Kelly only made 2 million/year at Notre Dame you're very naïve.

Don't upset the children.

I'm sure you have an excellent resume for the job
I'm sure he didn't spend $100 million twice to hire 8-4 head coaches.
