Does anyone on here really believe that totally clean major programs exist?

If so do you really believe that a major program in football or basketball can compete for championships without some form of dirty recruiting? Big money has forever ruined the purity of major college sports and until that is removed paying recruits will continue. The idea that some people really think there are major programs that play by the written rules nowadays is baffling to me.

There is a facade that must be maintained.

We all know LSU is dirty to some degree. The outrage on this board stems from the fact that Alleva made things so much worse for us (shocker) and the notion that when the NCAA gets involved, LSU will get hammered when other programs are allowed to skate by.

I could believe a program like Iowa was clean but they will never compete for championships.

Totally clean meaning no help getting the mom a good job, no doctoring up test scores, no rule breaking benefits whatsoever. My point is cheating is cheating wether it be cash being delivered or any other extras.

Of course they exist and they can field good teams, with an occasional great year. However, they cannot be consistent winners.
Stanford, Wisconsin, BYU, etc.

I’m sure there are a bunch that are clean. None of them compete for much outside of a fluke run every now an then but not all are dirty.

I believe MOST programs endeavor to stay clean and spend a lot of time and money to do so. Sports are competitive and many people are involved, and some cheat. The programs, for the most part, try to prevent this.
I know of no programs which knowingly support cheating or permit it "because of everybody else does".
If you know of any and can cite specific proof, please let us know.

Les miles’ program was for the most part clean and he competed.

Of course no program knowingly supports cheating or openly permits it but to think they don’t know it’s going on is just silly. There is too much money involved now for it to be the exception rather than the rule.

About the only school I can think of is maybe Stanford in football. The value of the education there makes it worth it, especially for the 3.8+ gpa kids they recruit. If my kids could go anywhere and were high academics that's where I would urge him to go.

...and cmon they didn't realize that the housing they were providing for summer school kids was impermissible. That's not a bag man paying kids. Apples to Cadillacs.
Cmon this headline link is the kind of BS that fake news on all sides does.

Yes, I do. I believe it lies somewhere just outside of the P5, where players really have no bargaining chip to be paid for their services. These are the 3-4 year guys who aren't elite of the elite who demand payment for their services. Of course there might be some outliers to the P5 who might nab an elite player, and they may have to pay. But I believe it's less prominent or even non existent.

I can't stand him, but Bobby Knight ran a clean program and won championships.

Exactly. Money is the absolute power that corrupts absolutely.
