So the solution is fewer base hits

No the solution is to hit a HR before we get the third out. That'll solve all the problems. But the key is, the person batting after the HR can't get on base, because if that happens we are right back to leaving runners on.

The solution is to just keep hitting and the law of averages will work themselves out. It was a question. Why is that not allowed?

LSU has 12 runs

11 games into the season and we have 8 guys over .350

Teams biggest problem is too many dudes.

If you have a good strategy at the plate (we do!), you are gonna have lots of baserunners. Plus, you are going to win a lot of games.

Yeah, and we're driving the ball well, just not hitting a lot out of the park, yet.

It comes around. Lineups will be tinkered with, etc.

Maybe, i felt like we struggled to get on base last year. Remember hitting a ton of solo home runs but you could be right.

We have to be on pace to break it.

Our team has an OBP of nearly .500. You’re going to leave a lot of runners on base when that happens

I believe it was 2023 Jay said something at the CWS to the effect of “yeah everyone keeps talking about how many men we have LOB, what they fail to realize is that’s a good sign for an offense… it also means you’re getting a lot of guys on base.”

That was true. To me it felt like they would leave runners on then the next inning the first guy up hit a solo shot.

What if we had a problem getting on base?

I assume most really good offensive teams are bottom half of this stat. It wasn't an indictment, just a question. We have a ton of bases loaded opportunitys this year.

9-for-23 (.351) with runners on base
7-for-16 (.438) with runners in scoring position

Elite averages and incredibly high number of situational ABs
