I've watched all of the shows in which Portnoy discusses this. Portnoy said he would be willing to offer pay $1-3 million to get a QB. He said a ton of people reached out to him after and he has had talks with people in the AD. He also said that player would basically have to be an employee of Barstool. It's not all as cut and dry as you think it is.

oh I think he 100 percent cares about money but he cares about the life changing generational wealth that an early draft pick garners. not the "instant gratification" of some NIL chump change. LSU puts him in a fantastic position for that as witnessed by Burrow and Daniels.

But it's extremely rare for a high schooler to be that disciplined. and honestly the NFL payday is never a guarantee. it's easy to see why most still choose based on NIL. so we'll see.

I live in Michigan and Underwood is 100% LSU bound. His parents are even moving to Baton Rouge after football season.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of money for 7 figure NIL players come from local vs national. Did Livy and Angel have a lot of BR money?

The point being that if you're the top player in the country, any top tier school can get you 7 figures. The non-NIL factors are more important.

Probably both. He is 100% getting "instant gratification" money well. And if you don't believe that to be true, I just think you are naive. Yeah, there are probably schools offering him more money. That doesn't mean that money is the last thing on his mind.

It depends on who they are. Livvy isn't getting money because she it one of the best gymnasts. She is getting money because she has millions of followers. She's getting influencer money, not athlete money. Will Campbell is getting money because he is good at football.

Bryce Underwood is going to play at LSU.

Josh Pate is probably right…..he could very well win a Heisman at LSU.

The last QB that Michigan had that was great was Tom Brady. Even with him, they sure didn’t develop him well during his tenure there. He was pretty good. He exploded after he got to the NFL.

Michigan is to QB’s now what LSU used to be to QB’s - a veritable purgatory.

No one thinks this.

What Bryce is saying is that his main goal is the NFL and that money in college is not his top priority. I’m sure LSU is competitive but may or may not have the top offer.

NFL money dwarfs NIL so that’s smart. Going to the wrong team, wrong coach, wrong offense, etc, for a little extra NIL money would be dumb,

If you believe that money is that last thing on his mind I’ve got some news for you...

I mean… there’s a difference between believing it’s “the last thing in his mind” vs. believing it’s not the most important factor.

Nobody believes he’s coming to LSU for free. Lots of people believe he cares more about his NFL prospects than the biggest bag in CFB.

I’d like to agree with you, but he turned down a lot of money from Michigan, so it’s possible he’s being truthful.
He hasn’t turned down anything yet. Unless he signed and I missed that.

And Livvy would probably get equal influencer money at any of the top tier SEC gymnastics schools. Not because of her ability but because of the exposure of a Bama or UGA program. Will Campbell used his talent and exposure to earn it after getting on campus.

Flipping to Mi to throw three passes a game get out of here . Underwood is not a bling guy he is smart and talented his team is not like the momma of the Duncanville WR looking for a bag and bling . He is simply the best WB to enter collage in 10-15 years he is a grown azz man .

Not sure how accurate this is, but there are only 24 CFB players making 7 figures. Nuss ranks #10. Colorado is not getting their money's worth.
