Yes. It was "Please call medical exchange".

I'll answer this roll call. Hadn't thought of that in many years, and probably wouldn't have. Thanks for bringing an image of the old1970s Tiger Stadium to mind, and tear a to my eye.

I was just thinking that they other night when the crazy chick was being dragged out of the student section. Even as recently as the 90's you'd have 2-4 fights almost every game. You'd be watching the game then all of a sudden see everyone stand and look in the same direction. Usually took about 30 seconds to figure out where exactly everyone was looking, but you knew it was a fight somewhere. Occasionally you would hear the collective "ooooh's" from the crowd when someone (half the time the cops) would land a punch.

I guess it's a good thing, but that almost never happens now.

Does anyone remember announcements like this in Tiger Stadium?

Oh yes. I remember many nights in Tiger Stadium in the 1970s.

Anybody remember Band yells: "Hey Sid what's the attendance?!" Sid Crocker: "For the band the attendance tonight is..."

Sometimes, a joker would stand up, look behind him and start pointing to the higher seats, and a crowd of people would begin to do the same (almost like doing the "wave").

But nothing was happening; it was just a prank.

Everyone would go to pregame parties at people's houses, then there would be massive traffic jams getting to the stadium for the 7:30 kickoff.

This is a very accurate description of TS circa 70's that I grew up with.

I'm not old enough for this particular one but I do realize now how there aren't many general PA announcements. I remember "Your attention please, will John Doe please report to the nearest..." and it was either medical or police. It's one of those you don't realize that they don't happen much or ever anymore.

When you mentioned Red yelling Tiger Bait that brought a smile to me. Remember it well. He had a megaphone and would holler Tiger Bait Tiger Bait Tiger Bait.

I remember getting to the stadium early and hearing a guy named "Red" yelling "Tiger Bait" at the top of his lungs from the NEZ. Whole damn stadium could hear him.

end zones painted in both LSU and the visiting team colors Those were much better days.
I like the design of our current field, but the damn LSU logos in the Endzone's need to be much bigger. Way too small. All that empty space on each side of the LSU logos looks very bad. Increase the size or put "Something" in all that empty space. (Smaller Tiger Eye's, Checkerboard)

Is ingrained in my brain/mind from then; also recall band night? When the opponent band would get a halftime show also.
Good ole days, but we were not in the MNC discussion that much so I guess is a trade off!

Brings back pleasant memories to hear Sid Crocker's voice saying this.

Obviously, technology has made this type of public announcement no longer necessary.

I can recall imagining a doctor who wanted to continue watching the game, thinking, "Please don't be my #."
