LSU win total is set at o/u 9.5 Odds are about the same as making the playoff so it seems Vegas is actually favoring LSU going 9-3.

So we better go 10-2

Gotta see what the defense looks like against USC. If we drop that game, we don’t get to 10-2.

10-2 would definitely get us in the playoffs though

Yes no doubt. Offense will be explosive and our defense will be better and attacking the opponents,,,LSU will be a machine on offense with that OL,,, GEAUX TIGERS!

Yes, and a bit easier than we think it will be.

No. We are deficient at DT and DB.

So there are 12 teams out there that aren’t deficient anywhere in their team?

"The D-line room is deficient in numbers and quality," Jenkins said this week. "They've got to rebuild that room. He (Bo Davis) can coach as well as anybody in this country, but he needs personnel. They had some guys picked out in the portal. It didn't work out. They didn't get them. Bo will do as good a job as a man could possibly do, but they really need to shore that room up, personnel-wise."

That's a direct quote from the Godfather of DL coaching. It all starts up front, and this is the worst DT room we've had on paper since the 90's.

I know a lot of people want to look at things through P&G colored glasses in the offseason, but these coaches aren't miracle workers. They need better personnel. They are in the process of recruiting better players, but I really think the defense is going to struggle this year.

Well, Kelly needs to do what he hasn’t done so far- win the opener. We go from there.

Folks think Bo is a miracle worker and Baker is a masterful tactician capable of creating a top 50 defense without a defensive line.

What about our schedule makes you think we “should” make the playoffs?

Because “Brian Kelly said year 3”. He promised! He PROMISED!!! If a coach says it, it has to be true!! It doesn’t matter what the makeup of the roster is. BK promised!!

This year’s schedule is favorable in the sense almost all of the tough games (on paper) are at home. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy, and 10-2 is likely the mark needed to be in the mix for what is in essence 1 of 7 “at large” bids. You can see a path to 10-2, but it is by no means certain. There are still a lot of questions with this roster. Particularly on defense.

Last year LSU needed to be just average on defense to make the CFP. They weren’t, and likely blew their shot. If you just look at this year’s variables independently and not in the context of some arbitrary timeline LSU is probably projected just outside of the playoff picture.

Way too many people on here accepting mediocrity. BK was hired to compete for championships and he said we’d compete in year 3

No one is accepting mediocrity.

How many times are you going to repeat the year 3 thing?

Do you really think he is beholden to that?

Yes, I do. We hired him to compete for championships. Year 3 is his team and he isn’t shying away from it. Excuse time is over

If he doesn’t do something with this team this year there’s going to be plenty of negative chatter in his ear. I guess fans have to give him 5 years to compete for championships. The problem is he can’t get both the offense and defense to be championship level during the same year. Same thing that happened at Notre Dame. They were usually garbage on offense but had good defenses. Now it’s the opposite.

LSU should be in the top 12 (I guess technically 11 with the G5 spot) 3 out of every 4 years. Just no excuse with our talent pool, coaching budget, facilities, tradition etc.

The only two teams with a pulse we have to play on the road are Aggie with a new coach and UF with Sun Belt Billie.
