I'm serious

It's a thing. If you've ever seen a baseball player with the yips you'll know what I'm talking about.

Charles Barkley has the yips in his golf swing. No matter how much he tries, he can't keep from hitching at the top of his backswing.

It just looks like he's unable to release the ball sometimes. JD that is.

He had the flu against Arkansas
He played one of his best games against UAB
The team played bad at A&M

He’s starting for us in the SEC Championship tomorrow. I hope he has a great game.

The yips is real. JD doesn't have anything close to resembling the yips.

He actually fixed this a couple years ago and has a great swing now.

No, but I hope the yips invade him tomorrow. Need a duplicate Bama performance to win.

With his ankle injury i sure hope we have a plan to get the ball out quick and use designed QB runs in situations. It’ll be tough for him to scramble around. Of course our receivers have to run for 10 seconds to get open so good luck with that

He wasn’t that bad against A&M. 3 drives were killed by 3 drops (2 by Lacy and 1 by Jenkins). His one big mistake on the fumble where he should have handed it off.

It's not the yips.

He can't read the defense pre snap.

People are open due to the coverage but he is never looking their direction till its to late.

Nope. He just can’t read a defense and doesn’t go through his progressions. He rarely looks downfield when he takes off. His instinct is to tuck and run after his first read, but I don’t think that works tomorrow. It worked until the last few games. Teams know how to defend him now. I don’t like saying it, but there’s a pretty good chance he gets pummeled tomorrow. I thought Bama would do the same thing, so maybe I’m wrong.

GA has a much stronger Defense than Bama.

That mistake decided the outcome of the game. He hands it off and emery gets 20 or 60 for a td. He almost kept the emery td in first half too. He has an issue always wanting the ball in his and, and never throwing. Whether that's from inability to read a defense, only throwing when wide open, it's real. We can't call slants, go's, post, etc routes. Hitch or curl. It sucks. Freak athlete, but Florida JD hasn't been seen in a bit. Needs to let it loose

No. He just doesn't see downfield or anticipate well. He isn't not throwing because of nerves, he just doesn't know where to throw it and is very delayed in his decision making when compared to good throwing QB's.

No, he doesn't. Because what I consider "the yips" is a mistake or mess up that he can't quite get out of his head, and thus it snowballs and keeps happening. Think Steve Sax with the Dodgers.

John Emery might have the yips, regarding ball security. He might be squeezing it too tight now, or think more about NOT fumbling, then survey the field and see his lanes.

Boutte might have had them early this season, dropping 2 TDs against Fla State, then dropping a number of passes in following games.

Boutte might be the closest thing to Daniels having the yips, as he almost certainly expected Boutte to be his prime target, and he definitely hit him a few times without anything good happening. But it seemed like Daniels (and the staff) successfully shifted that target to Nabers, and now looks comfortable throwing to Taylor too.

Hell, I can see them coming back next year and having a big season. Timing and trust will only get better.
