This year seams to be loaded with pitching studs, and hopefully, it may alter Hess' decision to return

The MLB draft is way different than the NFL draft

I can inform everyone with a great deal of confidence that I don't have any idea what Hess is going to do....

I hope you are correct, but I can't help but think that you are just throwing BS at the wall and hoping it sticks.

What makes you think any of them will return?

I don't think any of them will return, but I also don't think it's a far fetched idea.

Duplantis may want a year on campus with his brother, in addition to being contact hitter with not a lot of power or arm, limiting his upside.

Watson and Hess might not get the deals they want.

Same...

However, I was curious if he would describe why he made such a bold statement that he seems certain of.

Seems to me only Watson is consistently very high up on draft boards right now, things can change though in the next month.

Hard to find Hess or Duplantis as consistently as Watson, but they are still up there in some.

-Hess- just coming back as a dominant closer and not a starter?

The fact you get so many upvotes cements the baseball acumen on this board.

No. 3rd rounder and middle relied. $$. Staying will cost him bargaining power.

Even Chris Cotton was starting games in the Astros organization early in his career.

It serves a dual purpose of getting guys enough innings to develop pitches and to see if they can handle the workload.

And unless a guy is going to be up in the majors as a reliever within a year of being drafted, he's not being drafted in the first round with the sole intention of making him a reliever. It would be a waste of the spot. You can find quality relievers after the 10th round, why waste your first round pick on that.

He’s definitely not a starting pitcher going high in draft but a little higher as reliever....

The MLB hitters would kill his 95 MPH fastball if it has no movement......

He should come back for another year of work to go higher in draft especially since he’s had a bad year :geaux tigers

They keep repeating the same stuff over and over and ignore the actual legit info posted.

Its also comical the people saying he has had a horrible year pitching. He is far and away the best pitcher on this staff. If he does return next season, it would take some incredible freshman coming to force a Hess move back to the pen.

Rantards have been on this since game 1. You would think they would have let it go by now.

Hess showcasing his stuff by throwing strikes and getting people out boosted his stock. Hess was not very reliable for most of the season, he came on strong as a pure closer at the end of the year.

In the end he has good stuff that MLB teams want. I would bet Peterson would get drafted this year if he was eligible even with limited appearances becuse he throws 96.
