If everyone thought that Hugh Freeze was the answer to beating Saban, he would have a job in the SEC right now instead of coaching the fricking Arizona Hotshots.

While not as OC, Saban very much wanted to hire Freeze as an analyst. The SEC commissioner nixed the plan because he "preferred" that no SEC schools hire Freeze so soon after his departure from Ole Miss.

Freeze is coaching the Arizona Hotshots because the SEC commissioner doesn't think it would look good having him in the league right now, not because he isn't in demand.

Going into next season it will be two years since Freeze was fired. Make no mistake, while maybe not as a HC, he's going to come back to college football very soon because of what he's proven on the field. History has proven that personal issues can be overlooked if you can produce on the field. Beat Alabama twice, come up just short a 3rd time, while scoring 43 points on them, twice, during Alabama's decade of dominance gets people's attention

Not a chance in hell the better question would be if we would ever score

No, but we might hold them to a scoreless tie one day.

And Chicken has said repeatedly he does not want upvote/downvote used for polling.

I know I'm in the minority in my opinion, but the main problem was complete domination in the trenches and not Ensminger as OC. Tua could pitch a picnic each time he dropped back while Burrow was running for his life within 3 seconds almost each time he dropped back. There isn't an OC that can win under such circumstances.

IMO we will only beat them by drastically improving in the trenches. Getting guys like Thomas and Sophser, who are as elite as they come, is how you can beat them. Hopefully we are headed in that direction.

I downvoted, but I'm not sure right now or for the next 2-3 years if we could even with Freeze or Briles or whatever flavor of the month the rant has fallen in love with. Saban has stockpiled 5 and 4 star talent all across his roster . He's routinely getting and signing 5-7 5 stars yearly and most of the rest of his roster are the higher end 4 stars

Until you can have about 2 years of signing 5 5 stars with at least 2-3 of them being linemen either on the O line or D line, we are not going to beat him no matter the scheme anyone comes up with .

do you knew how many points Ensnminger scored against Alabama in two games? 0 . Sure he wont others but if you are fine with never scoring against Alabama again stick with Ensnminger.

In the two years he has been OC vs. Bama, we have zero points. So the obvious answer is no.

How do you know that Zeraux isn’t holding back E just like he did with Canada and just as Miles did with Cameron?

Maybe with the Dallas Cowboy O-line from the early 90s. Then, yeah, I think he could.

No. Our offensive scheme is archaic.

I agree. That falls at the feet of O for the second straight year.

We do not know. But if the offense fails again then 0, with or without E as OC, should be fired. He is the common factor. He promised to fix the O-line. He has been known to engage previously in prevarication. He is firstly a political animal. He has no problem throwing others under the proverbial bus.

we don't but i will guess he feels less threatened by E's scheme thus maybe less meddling.

I don't know if it'll happen or not, but the odds are better going forward than they were before 2016.

There are zero signs of the odds being better going forward. The offense has looked completely lifeless against Bama in Ensminger's two tries. And honestly, other than LSU deciding to kick off to Bama this year, O had zero killer instinct and didn't help at all either. It was quite the opposite of how he has coached this year.

In those two games, we've rushed for 45 yards combined. And in one of those games, we had Fournette and Guice in the backfield. That's bad.

W are not anywhere near Bama in talent level yet. It is our line play that has held us back against Bama for 4 or 5 years now. Anyway. We probably will not won next year either
