So Overall - Avg as DC and Below Average D as a recruiter = Below average.
Millions no longer even buy you average ...

Well to be fair to him we are not currently recruiting at a LSU level.

However him wasting Perkins isn’t helping him one bit.

Elite dc is different than it was in the past, offense is much stronger than before. I don’t think we see house get to the new elite level. He isn’t recruiting or scheming well enough.

Define elite DC. I think he needs to field a top 3 scoring defense in the SEC to even be in that conversation.

I don’t think that’s an unreasonable bar, but if you actually look at the numbers (for conference games only, to account for schedule differences) the only teams consistently in that mix over the past few years are Georgia and Kentucky. Georgia has had a top 3 scoring defense (again, SEC games only) 4 of the past 4 years. Kentucky has been there in 3 if the past 4 years.

I think there are a few different ways you can interpret that. The common denominator is both schools have head coaches who were high level defensive coordinators. Kentucky is way more impressive than Georgia IMO given the talent disparity, and I do think Brad White is a very good coach.

Not as long as his D players line up the exact same way on every single play of the game.
Why not get 6-7 players on the LOS and maybe make the olinemen have to make a guess on who is going to rush and who isn't....heck, they might just guess wrong a couple of times a game. Maybe our dbs could press the receivers once in a while to disrupt the pass patterns early, especially on 3rd and less than 5 yds....LSU plays 7-10 yds off the los regardless on the down and distance. Just insane to watch. It is just too dang easy. MSU throws for +350 yds Saturday easy, and probably another 150 on the ground. Our offense is going to have to score a lot to squeak out of win imo....and MSU is a very average SEC team.
