Do we still owe BK money?

I can't remember if BK agreed to a lump sum buyout but I thought he wanted every penny, so LSU said they will then pay him weekly according to the terms of his contract?
I ask this because I know there is an offset clause if he gets another job and there is a Rumour that Rutgers is interested in BK (Probably BS floated by his agent)

He wouldn’t agree to a reduced amount in order to get a lump sum, so there was no advantage or incentive to not just pay him out over time.

Disagree. If he has another job waiting, he will likely agree to a reduced lump sum payment. That's fairly common in this context, Miles did the same thing when he took the Kansas job.

Hopefully he takes the Rutgers job and we can thank Zinn and Tate for lowering the buyout

Yea, but that hasn’t happened yet and that wasn’t the question. Until that happens, there’s no reason to not pay him out over time.

We're paying him over time.
He has to actually search for a job to be paid the full buyout, so yes, this probably is a BS rumor.
Kelly will probably never coach again. He's destroyed his reputation.

He is getting paid by CBS so maybe that helps but yes LSU is paying him

He doesn’t have to be searching for a job right now because he currently has a job.

Kelly will get roughly $800,000 per month in regular installments spanning through December 2031, minus any salary he makes at another job. The mitigation from his current CBS and Sirius gigs are very small in comparison to 800K per month. Any decent coaching job, if he can get one, should bite into that a bit more.

Nevermind, it can be in coaching, administration, or media.
I thought those contracts included language that the coach had to actively search for head coaching positions.

Contractually he has to be actively looking for a comparable job to get his buy out
