He looks like a legitimate ace.

I know there is a risk to letting him bat, but dam he’s good with a bat.

That's what I'm thinking. We got bats so I don't know if it's worth the risk.

Make sure he knows how to get back to 1st without getting injured! I lean towards him just pitching, but we'll see how things play out.

Maybe a PH every once and awhile.

Not when it matters. Tennessee would throw at him every AB. I’m sure they wouldn’t be the only ones.

Do you really want your ace potentially having to run bases and dive back on pick-offs?

frick no.

We have enough hitters to let Skenes just focus on pumping in 98-99 heaters with tail.

You can't.

Imagine he catches a 92 mph on his wrist and is out for he season

He's so much more valuable striking out double digits on Friday nights

I don't want the extra exposure for our ace pitcher to potentially get hurt like White did today.

I'd only let him PH once or twice in SEC play and not run. Just enough to make teams think he's an option off the bench so they can't IBB guys to get to weaker hitters

Hell yeah batting .410 with 13 HRs is great but HELL NO you don’t take a chance in getting him hurt when he’s the best starting pitcher in America

In the last 10 years, how many players have we lost from getting hit by a pitch?

In post season play, I think I let him hit when he starts, and DH for Milazzo if that’s allowed.

Don’t think that’s allowed. Softball has a “designated player” that can bat for any position, while baseball’s DH replaces the pitcher in the batting order.

I pretty much agree but it’s academic. Skenes says he is batting Sunday so Jay plans to use him as a hitter more than sporadically.

And come to think of it, Shohei Ohtani does plenty of both and does not seem injury prone.
